Every thrash fan know megadeth for their amazing guitar skills and their great music. Their records were pretty different from one to another but this one is definitly their masterpiece. After being fired from metallica, lead guitarist and singer Dave Mustaine want to create his band:megadeth. He actually made that album to have more success than Metallica, which never happened yet... The 80"s were like a fight for Dave Mustaine. He just wanted to win it. Their most successful album was countdown to extinction, which has been on billboard"s number two, but hey!!! What"s number on Dave? Metallica"s black album for sure!

Track reviews

Wake up dead-This is my favourite song on the album. It is just insane riffing and noticable solos. Dave"s Vocals are killers and pretty good on that one. The song has a nice trashy sound and the riffs change a lot in this song. In almost 4 minutes, the song has four different riffs filled with insane solos from Mustaine and the great Chris Poland and cool lyrics and vocals by Dave.
(5/5)

The conjuring-Not the highlight of the album, i will even say it is really overlooked and it is still a great song. Dave"s vocals are felt all over that complex song and i just can"t figure out how he can sing playing that fast and killer guitar riffs. The song is also filled with solos mostly by Poland.
(4.5/5)

Peace sells-This one may be megadeth"s biggest success with Symphony of destruction and you may notice that this song is in GTA-vice city. The song is great and begins by a funky bass intro that will be later play by guitars in the song. Mustaines vocals are insane and there are even solos between mustaine"s singing parts. Great song.
(5/5)

Devil"s island-This song is chocolate cake filled with gold and fun. It"s an amazing track but Mustaine"s lyrics could be felt much more. Still we don"t care cause it is sang on a guitar riff going so fast that it will make you puke candies and love. I love the riff after the two first verses. Again filled with solos that are pretty similar to peace sells".
(5/5)

Good mourning The intro first reminded me Metallica"s fade to black but it is not similar at all. Small solos by Poland and unatural lyrics. I think this song is a great intro to Black Friday.
(5/5)

Black friday-I think that the riffs and guitar work on this song is great but there are 2 things that just annoye me. On the second verse there is a ***ty guitar riff that adds to the main guitar riff and this is just too much. And, Mustaine"s lyrics seems unfelt and if you want to hear these lyrics about dismamberment and gore, go get slayer"s reign in blood. Still a good song.
(4/5)

Bad Omen-This song begins by a fast and dark riff of high notes and it is soon replaced by a crazy fast riff that people who don"t like speed metal will hate. A good song of the album but has conjuring, it"s not an highlight.
(4/5)

I ain"t superstitious-Wow" What can I ***ing say except wow. This song is just complete crap between two songs that are ok. It is just to fill the 3 minutes that are missing on the album. And there are little solos that fill the sentences and that mean these solos are fillers of a fill. It completely sucks.
(2/5)

My last words- This song begins by a intro that is similar to bad omen"s. This song is really, really good but does not click with me has well. It sounds like you already heard that on the album and I think that"s why I don"t love it at all. But thats my opinion cause a lot of fans loving this one.
(4/5)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
4/5 is a good grade but I would have give a little more if I ain"t superstitious was" I don"t know" Hangar 18??? No seriously this song is just too much and there are some little things I would switch just like my last words and black Friday"s details. Also this album is not for everybody. Mustaine's vocal can irk some people, it may be a little dark, too complex or just too heavy, but that's one of my favourite records and i don't think i'm the only one to love it.

This album owns. Defentely as good as Rust in Peace. That blues cover does suck though.

Although a Metallica fan, I am also a big fan of Megadeth also. Peace Sells was the greatest Megadeth album, hands down. Rust in Peace was pretty good, but not as good as this. "Peace Sells" was featured not only in GTA:Vice City, but also in True Crime: Streets of LA. This album is just kick a**

This album is good, but very overrated. I don't care what anyone says, I like the blues cover. I strongly prefer RIP over this, as the tone on this album is very low on gain and makes it sound like a classic rock album. Although, Wake Up Dead owns.

One of the very few thrash albums I like. It's catchy and enjoyable and gets you in the right mood for endless headbanging!

Not really.

Any way, this album is my second favorite Megadeth album. Not as good as Rust in Peace though.

Great album. Its stuff like this and Rust In Peace that make me wonder: What would metallica be like today if Dave stayed in the band? If Dave wanted to get back at Metallica with his music, this album definitely proves hes still awesome, though this isnt as good as master of puppets (I think Peace Sells and MOP came out the same year). Rust in peace beats this out a little.

This is Megadeth at its best, IMO the next biggie to come from them Rust in Peace was kinda like Metallica's Black Album in its change or sound that left some fans a little confussed but still pleased.

1986 was the best year for many bands, especially Metallica(Master of Puppets is my favorite album of all time!). But I think Peace Sells is a pretty bland album, for the most part. There's no song on this album that particularly sticks out, although the title track is ...interesting, and I like the solo in My Last Words.

this album rules...except for that superstitious song...that sucked.

i liked metallica back then they were way better than megadeth...but once the black album came out...all the fag metalheads came...and they became mainstreme queers...then it really got bad after that, they sucked more and more with each following album...until they became the arrogant scum that they are today...and megadeth is at the least, still tolerable
