Magical Mystery tour by the beatles
an awesome record by the best band of all time.
This record has a black shadow over it created by the failed T.V. movie, but the record does have some great music on it.

THE BAND
John Lennon : Best songwriter in the band and also played good piano
Paul McCartney : Another awesome songwriter, good bass
George Harrison : Best musician in the band, writes some great songs
Ringo Starr : An OK drummer, but does keep a good beat.

THE SONG LIST
1.) Magical Mystery Tour
A pretty good song nice and upbeat. A McCartney song where he got the influence from the English coach buses are called Mystery tours. A great opener for the album. its got some good piano in it. 4.5/5

2.) The Fool On The Hill
Another McCartney song A pretty good song about A man everone thinks is a fool, but his foolishness is an indication of his wisdom. its got some very good lyrics that make you think. overall good song. 4/5

3.) Flying
All the beatles help write this song, which is rare and it also doesnt have any lyrics which is also weird. they use mellotrons, backwards organ playing, and some chanting for a phycodelic effect. good instrumental. 4/5

4.) Blue Jay Way
Another good Harrison song. he writes some great stuff. I love his originality and good musicianship(if thats a word) kind of an eary song. got the name from where his cottage is located in California, Blue Jay Way. they use backwards tape, some organ, and cello to get the effect on this song. 4/5

5.) Your Mother Should Know
once again a McCartney song.it's supposed to be a song that sounds like its from an early 1920's band. worst on album. just lain bad writing by the beatles. just doesnt sound good to me. an ok chorus. 3/5

6.) I Am The Walrus
Lennon is is really good in this song. This song is a blend of three songs he was working on at the time. Bob Dylan was also an inperation for this song. An awesome song 2nd best on the album. the craziest lyris ive evr heard. some good synthesizer to. love it. 5/5

7.) Hello Goodbye
McCartney wrote this song, and Lennon hated it. He said it was a song full of sense less contradictions. Back to their early roots on this song. its a pretty good song. kinda strange outro, but the rest is good. 4/5

8.) Strawberry Fields Forever
Written by Lennon, he said it was his best song with the beatles. Best song on the album. There were two recordings of this song both at different tempers and keys. an awesome mix of music in one great song. great philosophical lyrics to go along with it. 5/5

9.) Penny Lane
Both McCartney and Lennon wrote this song together. An awesome song that also sounds like their early years. a great chorus with verses inbetween. very recognizable. 5/5

10.) Baby You're A Rich Man
A pretty good song. about a women that hourdes all her money for herself. its an overall good song. 4/5

11.) All You Need Is Love
For some reason this song always sticks in my head. its so catchy. its got some good philosophical lyrics. the outro is She Loves You. 4.5/5

Overall great record. kind of over shodowed by the great records around it. but it holds its own great songs
Hope this helped

Yeah it definitely needs more detail, but nice effort I guess.

I'm not much of a fan of this record. Half of it is top-notch, on par with some of the Beatles best material; the other half is crap. (Crap by Beatles standards means average, of course :p)

Well, this is basically a psychedelic album. But The Beatles as a whole did have elements of classic rock beyond their first few albums, which were pop.

I get so bloody sick and tired of people categorising the beatles as a 'pop' band... they were the first rock band.

Just go listen to 'Helter Skelter' in the dark and maybe once you've finished wetting your pants, you can actually realise that the beatles are a 'ROCK' band.

First rock band, eh?

Elvis and Chuck Berry would be turning in their blue suede graves right now.

Great album. Lacks the flow of Revolver but the individual songs are just a little bit perfect.

Baby, Strawberry, Penny, Walrus...the list goes on.

Divine, like you said... all the Beatles albums are diamonds. I am the walrus is perfect but I didn't agree with the review of Your Mother Should Know... its happy and so gay. A great song!

Yeh just say what they do

Paul is a better writer than Lennon

(methinks a poll is due somewhere)

I think John is a better writer, but Paul is certainly a better pianist than John.
