Review Summary: One Of the best england hardcore acts out today this disc shows the best of whats to come
These sheffield lads exploded onto the scene in 2004 releasing the "this is what the edge of your seat was made for" EP in 05 and there debut in 06 "count your blessing". A deathcore anthem for the cynical and recently dumped.
(TRACK BY TRACK)
1.PRAY FOR PLAGUES-a total thrasher about a whore with honest and clever lyrics with a brutal breakdown and ripping guitars great dual high and low vocals makes for a good mosh.8/10
2.TELL SLATER-a little too metalhead for my taste with bits with guitars solos but this song has the breakdown where all the music stops and mr.sykes opens his secret spilling mouth and barks his guttural order of "move". 9/10
3.BRAILLE-my personal favorite of the cd it starts out with a riff that makes men women and children everywhere bob there heads in pure hardcore honesty. This song was made for the pits of concert and festivals alike. Where in the studio the guitars poured out every note, the drums were meant too sound as if lightning was ripping through the river styx, the vocals spewed out of oliver syke's throat like a scene from the exorcist.10/10
4. ALOT LIKE VEGAS- A decent track good duel vocals, simple guitar, double bass drum-nothing new. The only good part is the fact that at the end
of this song you feel like there is more mind blowing metal on the horizon.7/10
5.BLACK AND BLUE- A full on fist pumping song with no boundaries and goals except to make you feel like you ripped your vocal chords out and pluck your eyes out too catch yourself pretending to play the guitar solo in the middle of the song. The truly amazing thing about this song is that even for the genre of the band it is a very catchy song.8/10
6.SLOW DANCE- A very interesting interlude as it fills the gap between beginning and end.8/10
7.LIQUOR AND LOVE LOST-Not an easy song to play or even think of playing as it shoots off straight into a very intense and seemingly melancholy guitar riff. Even so its sounds like an As I Lay Dying rarity. 7/10
8.MEDUSA- It starts with a drum beat down if you will where it sounds as if a drummer boy of satans army is leading the crew into battle with hardcore wannabes and come out bloodstained and victorious.9/10
9. FIFTEEN FATHOMS AND COUNTING- a beautiful instrumental to tie up this presentation of pure mayhem and chaos before the final number.10/10
10.OFF THE HEEZAY- The last song and strongest song on the record as it starts
off with five hits on a snare the roar of " Ive Been Taken From Your Arms So Many Times" followed by brutal attempts to capture the fury of a ballad about being left alone. In the middle of this madness a riff taken from possibly the best of from first to last songs and ends with a sweet and delicate piano exit.10/10
Conclusion- One Of the best england hardcore acts out today this disc shows the best of whats to come. Could possibly the new bmth cd change metal yet to come?
PROS:

CONS:
cliche' at times
a short cd
