Review Summary: Bracket: The best band that nobody's heard of.

First of all this album was released in 2002, not 1987. Bracket wasn't even a band in 1987!

Now, I don't want to fill this up with useless information so I won't completely fill it up...I'll just let you know about some of the highlights on the album:

Trailer Park- This song actually doesn't sound that different from the original (except the added part) but for some reason I tend to gravitate towards this version of the song. The riff is amazing and this song reminds me alot of Nirvana for some reason.

Hearing Aid- This is the only song I didn't own prior to this album and it is probably my favorite on the album. It's very fun and would cause one to dance. The song will get stuck in your head for days on end.

Lazy- This song, in my opinion, is ten times better than the original version. The vocals seem to have more feeling and it doesn't feel trite. The original seems a bit over-done to me.

Sour- Great vocal melody, great performance. Not a whole lot different from the original but it is a very well written song but what else would one expect from Bracket?

Huge Balloon- There is nothing better than tasteful breaks in a song. Need I say more?

2rak005- I don't know if they got tired of playing it the original way or what but this version is awesome. It breathes new life into one of their oldest songs.

Warren Song Pt. 8- This song shows off the musical talent of Bracket, starting with that guitar solo/intro and with the huge vocal break in the middle. They did a wonderful job of adding length to a very short song tactfully which is not easily done.

Talk Show- Very interesting jazzy intro. I like this song alot. Splendid vocal melody.

Some of the songs that I wish were on this album are "Dodge Ball", "Evil Bean", and "Everyone is Telling Me I'll Never Win".

Some of the songs I could have lived without on this album would be "Warren Song Pt. 2" and "Green Apples".

Overall this album is awesome and my favorite Live In A Dive album to date. I would highly recommend it.

Horrible review and it's funny to see someone rep this band. Even Fat Mike admits that Bracket records don't sell. These guys are catchy and fun but for some reason nobody likes them. Also, in general the Live in a Dive series is much better than this. The Strung Out and NUFAN ones are golden.

Basically everything that dfelon said. I like Bracket, but they just never went anywheeerrrrrrrreeeeeeeee. This was recorded opening up for fucking Tilt. Seriously, when your band isn't even well known enough to headline over Tilt, how the hell do you still have money to be in music?

Dfelon, have you heard the Lagwagon Live in a Dive? This Message Edited On 12.13.07

I think it's kinda sad that no one really likes these guys, they're pretty good.

Yeah, they're actually one of my favorite bands, I don't care that they don't sell records or that nobody knows them because music isn't about that.

The Lagwagon Live in a Dive is pretty damn good. The Subhumans one is probably my favorite though.
This album is actually great in terms of Bracket releases. It's probably better than anything they've ever done on Fat Wreck. Their latest album is pretty alright but Marty's vocals are so hit or miss that this band could never have proper success.

Yeah dude the Lagwagon Live in a Dive is probably my favorite of all of them. It's got the proficiency of the NUFAN one but with alot more charisma than it. Plus like, Lagwagon are actually funny on stage.
