Review Summary: Bracket: The best band that nobody's heard of.
First of all this album was released in 2002, not 1987. Bracket wasn't even a band in 1987!
Now, I don't want to fill this up with useless information so I won't completely fill it up...I'll just let you know about some of the highlights on the album:
Trailer Park- This song actually doesn't sound that different from the original (except the added part) but for some reason I tend to gravitate towards this version of the song. The riff is amazing and this song reminds me alot of Nirvana for some reason.
Hearing Aid- This is the only song I didn't own prior to this album and it is probably my favorite on the album. It's very fun and would cause one to dance. The song will get stuck in your head for days on end.
Lazy- This song, in my opinion, is ten times better than the original version. The vocals seem to have more feeling and it doesn't feel trite. The original seems a bit over-done to me.
Sour- Great vocal melody, great performance. Not a whole lot different from the original but it is a very well written song but what else would one expect from Bracket?
Huge Balloon- There is nothing better than tasteful breaks in a song. Need I say more?
2rak005- I don't know if they got tired of playing it the original way or what but this version is awesome. It breathes new life into one of their oldest songs.
Warren Song Pt. 8- This song shows off the musical talent of Bracket, starting with that guitar solo/intro and with the huge vocal break in the middle. They did a wonderful job of adding length to a very short song tactfully which is not easily done.
Talk Show- Very interesting jazzy intro. I like this song alot. Splendid vocal melody.
Some of the songs that I wish were on this album are "Dodge Ball", "Evil Bean", and "Everyone is Telling Me I'll Never Win".
Some of the songs I could have lived without on this album would be "Warren Song Pt. 2" and "Green Apples".
Overall this album is awesome and my favorite Live In A Dive album to date. I would highly recommend it.
