Review Summary: Chamillionaire provides a hard-hitting sophomore attempt in Ultimate Victory that should make any hip-hop fan should love and appreciate. This is a classic.

After a huge debut album, Texas's own Chamillionaire is back with his sophomore record, Ultimate Victory.

I have to say right of the bat, that this album definitely provides more of a lyrical twist than his previous album and all of his mixtapes. The use of no cursing whatsoever proves that swearing just blocks creativity. Now, to start off, Chamillionaire stretches the boundaries of hip-hop going to a more political approach compared to The Sound of Revenge, where he had that gangsta approach. In songs such as The Morning News and The Evening News, Cham talks about the problems going around in the world today, such as dropout rates rising in our local high schools. I applaud these two tracks for showcasing something that barely any rap songs preceeding this have not yet shown, that hip-hop doesn't need to be about pimp's and hoe's like most aggressors think.

On the track Hip-Hop Police, British veteran MC Slick Rick joins Chamillionaire, to explain how everybody who doesn't like hip-hop isn't against all the rappers, and how authorities are keeping their eyes on gangsters and rappers. I have to admit, Chamillionaire nails it on this one. He states that hip-hop is not dead as long as he's alive, something many will most likely debate.

Although moving on to a more political aspect to his rhymes, he still keeps a gangster flow on some of the tracks on Ultimate Victory, such as the critically acclaimed Rock Star featuring rap's "MVP" Lil' Wayne, Welcome To The South with fellow Texan Pimp C, and Come Back To The Streets. The ultimate difference in tracks on this album, is the track The Ultimate Vacation. This song showcases a very mezmorizing beat, and once again very sleek lyrics.

All in all, Ultimate Victory provides everything that a real fan of hip-hop could want, it's serious, and also very casual and hard. This is definitely a huge step forward for Chamillionaire, and any Chamillionaire fan should definitely go out and cop this CD. Don't download it, go to a store and ***ing buy it.

Definitely not a 5. This review needs more detail about how it all sounds. You describe the rapping itself well enough, but you'll need to describe the backing music more.

Untrue. Many rappers don't rap about 'pimp's and hoe's'. Also no apostrophes for pimps and hoes because they're just plural.

You've got potential as a writer, just need to solidify everything.

And, as clarified in Cocaine's Soulja Boy review, it is Ho, not Hoe.

haha. whats even funnier is anyone calling mainstram hip-hop "hip-hop" in the first place. they obviouslly need a lesson in what real hip-hop actually is.

I havent heard this album yet, but to be honest i can say now it will not deserve a 5. the only hip-hop album worthy of a full rating in history is nas - illmatic. period. if this album was that good it would be getting this sorta praise all over the place.

even virtuoso and non phixion wouldnt get 5's from me, and thats saying something.

Definately not a classic, but one of the best mainstream hip-hop releases this year.
