Review Summary: Overall I feel this was a very good effort, if you put aside songs like Hot Dog and focus on serious songs like Boiler, it's extremely good results. The album after this (Results May Vary) was awful, I can admit that, but I like this album and everything
I can say that I am a Limp Bizkit fan, but I can understand why people would dislike this band if I can be honest, although it seems these days it's a trend to hate Limp Bizkit. Anyway, I have listened to this album, while it has it's good and bad's, it could have been better, some of the lyrics really damage the songs, anyway, let's get on with it...
1. Intro
No rating for this, it's just an intro, but I must say, it's pretty catchy
2. Hot Dog
This song has some nice funk to it during the verses, and Fred Durst does well with the vocals, but the lyrics are awful. The song is just an excuse for Fred Durst to swear about fifty times, the only other notable thing is the chorus, which rips off Nine Inch Nails, not a great song whatsoever
Rating 2/5
3. My Generation
Some good work here, nice little drum solo is the beginning, and a nice turntable solo near the end, plus some good guitar work in both the chorus and the verses, and a great bridge, the only problem? The lyrics, most of the time they neither ryhme nor make sense whatsoever, but a great chorus and all of the above makes up for it
Rating 3.5/5
4. Full Nelson
Some fine work here as well, a great vibe throughout the song, and music you could really get pumped to, the verses are ok, but I feel that the bridge and chorus really take the song
Rating 3/5
5. My Way
Great song here. some good lyrics about someone leaving because things aren't going there way (ironic since Wes ended up leaving the band) one to watch out for
Rating 4/5
6. Rollin
Not a great song. The problem is, the song is rather repetitive, add some confusing lyrics, plus the fact that Fred Durst seems to be trying to hard to be a 'playa', not really much when you look at it now, but it was f*cking huge when it came out as a single
Rating 2/5
7. Livin it up
The worst song on the album, the lyrics are horrible, the bridge is f*cking stupid, chorus is pathetic, and Fred Durst takes a needless shot at Nine Inch Nails, some of the lines in this song are cringe-worthy
Rating 1/5
8. The One
A good song here, the lyrics are sortof on and off, at times they're good, other times they're weak, I would have given it a 3/5, but the bridge is really good, and improves it
Rating 4/5
9. Getcha Groove On
A collaboration with Xzibit, Fred Durst tries, but his lyrics are terrible, and the chorus is really stupid and confusing, skip this one
Rating 1.5/5
10. Take A Look Around
One of my favourite tracks, some great lyrics, with a fantastic chorus, and a terrific bridge, Fred Durst really shines here
Rating 5/5
11. It'll Be Ok
Starts off ok, but Fred Durst really ruins it with his screaming, and changed from being despressive to annoying with Fred Durst's vocals, the song just doesn't cut it afterwards
Rating 1.5/5
12. Boiler
My favourite song on the album, Fred Durst does extremely well with the vocals, plus some great lyrics, add a great chorus and you have a great song, but the bridge is by far my favourite part, and shows off Fred's good screaming
Rating 5/5
13. Hold On
A very good song with some top lyrics, rather ordinary, non-standout but it's good nonetheless
Rating 4/5
14. Rollin (Urban assault vehicle)
Hip hop song here, but cannot cut it at all, not to mention how weak Fred is compared to the others, a must-skip
Rating 1/5
15, Outro
Simply f*cking stupid, nevermind the outro
Overall I feel this was a very good effort, if you put aside songs like Hot Dog and focus on serious songs like Boiler, it's extremely good results. The album after this (Results May Vary) was awful, I can admit that, but I like this album and everything else, and I hope Limp release there new album soon, I could really get back into it.
