Nice album from the California reggae-rock band 880 South. Standout tracks would include Effect of Sunsine, Down in the Rubble, Baja, and my personal favorite Move It.

Effect of Sunshine kicks off the album with a nice upbeat catchy song; simple, repetitive guitar part with a nice busy and bouncy bassline, cool chorus. 4/5

Drinks Are On Me is another cool song, the intro is very reminiscent of Wearing and Tearing by Led Zeppelin. Nice catchy chorus and upbeat verses, a solid song. Not unexpectedly, this song is about drinking and is a good party song. 3/5

C20H25N3o is a more minor key song, its about being high late at night. A little heavier than the previous tracks and not quite as good. 2/5

Extra Mile brings the album back to a happier sound, its about a situation with a girl thats not perfect but as long as she goes the extra mile to please him he'll please her too. Nice bass work, 4/5.

Move It is the strongest track on the album. Acoustic guitars and a strong bass line propel the slower and more relaxed song. 5/5

Tomorrow is a pretty simple song thats great to listen to. Pretty straightforeward reggae-rock with the little two-and-four guitar accents and a nice bassline. 4/5

Naughty Things kicks off with some horns, into a nice vocal melody. "Cuz when I wanna do those naughty things, I can't think of anything that you won't do." Punkish guitars in the chorus, another solid song. 3.5/5

Girl Looks Good has an interesting vocal effect going on in the verses. Its about a girl who he likes to look at. Cuz she looks good. 2.5/5

Thief has a really cool little guitar part with a simple bassline that follows it. More minor key again but not annoyingly so like in C20... Guitar gets kinda funky in the chorus. Rocks a little harder than most of the tracks but its still pretty mellow. Most of the songs have the same kind of reggae-rock vibe but none really sound the same. 3.5/5

Baha has a really cool reggaeish verse with a killer chorus. Nice little lyricless vocal thing that works its way in sometimes. 4/5

Appreciation has a really cool busy bass part and a nice catchy chorus. Strong track even if the singer's forcing his voice a little. 3.5/5

Fast Lane has a simple beat on the drums that the guitars fit nicely into, moving a bit more in the choruses. 3/5.

Down in the Rubble has some cool guitar effect going in the intro, a really nice way to end the track, pretty much exemplefying the vibe of the whole album before it and summing up 880 South pretty nicely. 4.5/5

This is my first review and i would really appreciate any kind of feedback to make the next one better for you guys, i strongly reccomend this album to any fans of Pepper or Slightly Stoopid or Sublime. I dont know if its in any stores but its on iTunes.

Okay review for your first, a guy with sublime in his name can't be a bad guy. Just try not to do track by track reviews and if you choose to do those type, try adding a bit more detail rather than just writing stuff like "Cool bass part and nice chorus". Otherwise not bad for a first.

try and develop and beef up your next one.

I've listened to Matisyahu's "Youth", how does this compare with Youth?
