Review Summary: This is my first review. I hope it will be satisfactory. I really hope that if you read this that you would give these guys a listen. They have inspired so many bands which include: System of a Down, GWAR, Papa Roach, Korn, Limp Bizkit, and many more.

Hello, this is HonestJake. This is my first review, I would be very happy if it doesn't suck.
Most people only think of Faith No More as a one-hit wonder with their hit, "Epic". Faith No More is much more than that. They were the first real rap-metal band in my opinion.
The Real Thing (the album with "Epic") was a good album, but Angel Dust was the creative peak in their career. It went through so many music boundaries that this album can be described as perhaps one of the most experimental albums of all time. These musicians actually pull off a style that others have failed so horribly in. Unfortuneatly, MTV never really gave Angel Dust a chance. It still sold about 2.5 million copies though.

Faith No More is:
Mike Patton- Vocals
Jim Martin- Guitar
Mike Bordin- Drums
Billy Gould- Bass
Roddy Bottum- Keyboards

Track:

1) Land of Sunshine- This is a great introduction to the album. The beginning sounds like circus music that remind me of Mr. Bungle's "Carousel". After a few seconds the listener will realize that this is no ordinary band. All of the instruments seem to take you on a journey to a land of insanity. Mike's vocals are so unique and creative that you just can't stop listening. Good lyrics, great guitar, symphonic keyboards, and precise drumming are only missing a visible bassline. Good, but it gets better(3.5)

2) Caffeine- Such a heavy, melodic, head bangable song that you need to hear over and over again. Crazy song, but it still gets better(4)

3) Midlife Crisis- Surprise, the song is not about a midlife crisis. But I have no idea what it is about. This is the best song on the album. The intro has the coolest drum work by Mike Bordin. The first verse has some of the best lyrics from Mike Patton in my opinion. The hook just keeps you wondering what's next. Then the chorus is simply genius. This repeats itself and then comes a really cool solo that sounds very electronic. Then the chorus is repeated over and over until the song begins to fade. Watch the video(5)

4) RV- Pretty good lyrics, vocals, and everything else but it is still somewhat bland(2.5)

5) Smaller and Smaller- Once again good lyrics and very experimental. I really can't think of anything else. It is still a good song nonetheless(3.75)

6) Everything's Ruined- The song is about getting a baby that gives the family something that makes them rich but in the end it is fake and now..."everything's ruined"(4)

7) Malpractice- The lyrics are scary but that just adds to the song's complexity. From what I can understand it is about being touched by someone with cold hands (maybe a doctor) and "the hands removed the bad thing-MIRACLE"(3.75)

8) Kindergarten- A song that may remind you of kindergarten for some reason. The words being sung by Mike make you just love his style. Let's not forget about guitar parts of Jim. It all just flows together(4.25)

9) Be Aggressive- You may feel funny listening to this song. With lines like, "...you're the master and I'll take it on my knees". I still love it nonetheless(5)

10) A Small Victory- It's strange and it's soft. The music video is oddly enough in a war zone. Read the lyrics because I can't fully describe it(5)

11) Crack Hitler- This song has the coolest vocal effects that I have ever heard. The song has a real WW2 feel to it. I'm not just saying that because Mike uses a walkie-talkie for most of it(5)

12) Jizzlobber- This is my favorite song on the album (in my opinion of course). There is so much death metal-growls from Mike that at this point you will know why he is called Mr. 1,000 Voices. The ending has a nice church organ piece by Roddy. This is good stuff(5)

13) Midnight Cowboy- Nice instrumental by the boys but I wish they picked a different cover(2)...

14) Easy- They did pick a different cover. This Commodores cover is sung with much more spirit than the original by Lionel Richie. Great cover, weird video, it all worked out(5)
*This song may not be available on all Angel Dust albums*

Pros: Every musician in this band knows how to use their instruments
Good album for people who like many different genres
Most songs are very entertaining

Cons: Perhaps it is too experimental
Bad for people who do not like multi-talented and/or multi-genre bands
