Review Summary: Flesh And Blood Robot's 2004 debut EP is in incredible mixture of emotion and fun! In all honesty, it just sounds heartfelt. A bit heavy on generic breakdowns, but much heavier on slaying ass. Absolutely fantastic vocal work.

The Sound That Revolvers Make is basically an amalgamation of everything that I personally love (see: what you should also start listening to). It has melodic leads, fast paced noisy sections, pretty clean interludes, and of course BREAKDOWNS!

The only issue I have with FABR is their breakdowns, because though they're good, they kind of overuse them. For the most part they pull it off well, but well... some points it's just irritating.

To start off, we have And Shephards We Shall Be, with a very Botch influenced, diminished chord raping intro... okay, song. Fox' vocals come in pretty early, and all that can really be said is, the man is skilled. Basically think Norma Jean + good vocals / actual talent.

Of course, had the entire album continued this way, 'twould get quite boring, but nope. Instead we have something reminiscent of A Tale For The Ages by Hot Cross, and yes, a very atmospheric, distorted chord progression between. Once more, Chris Fox' vocals are amazing, after a noisy sounding verse, back to the clean chorus, Fox half yelling, half speaking, "Well maybe... just maybe I am weak. Maybe, I can't stand on my own two feet. My best effor to be a hero failed..." Definately an interesting song. Of course they couldn't leave out a "brutal" breakdown, but it actually adds to the effect for this one.

We continue on to find an interesting sounding album loaded with amazing basswork, that's heavy on atmosphere, very beautiful, yet very noisy. Even a few Gothenburg sounding songs. Like I Want To Rock You Body (Until The Break Of Dawn)...

Basically, this song is possibly my favorite on the album, aside from Two Skulls...

It's got a very upbeat sound musically, very dancy and party sounding. Yet Fox' vocals somehow give it a feeling of melancholy that just blows you away. Also has a nice way of making you sorta bob your head, and then all of the sudden just slapping you in the face.

Definately an interesting listen. It spans so many styles it's insane. I recommend it to anybody who's into heavier music, tbqh.

I have never heard of this band but this sounds fairly interesting actually, so I might check it out.

Not a bad review but it is very short. You need to describe the album and songs in a lot more detail. Still, not bad.

Awesome review... I didn't know anybody knew who these guys were. They're from my home state, and I thought they were more of just a local band... If you like Fox's vocals, he is now in See you Next Tuesday.

I forgot to mention how incredibly good A Mermaid Has No Legs, And A Man Doesn't Have Scales is.
