Review Summary: a quirky indie album that mixes strange sounds with classic indie guitar to create a womnderful blend of sounds from a notso wellknown band.
a very good album but a not so wellknown band.
blonde redhead has two vocalist, one male and one female, a quality i admire in bands and one that is greatly unfluential for this album.
the genre and feel of the songs on this album are greatly influenced by which vocalist has the lead vocals.
For instance in particular, the lead single and prob most popular song on the album, has a very odd feeling to it. mixing synth-like noices with catchy high pitched vocals forms a very nice song
in contrast, the song a cure is far different. powered more by distinct guitar lines and a hevier feel. The break towards the end of the song lead one to believe that the song is over; however, it has just begun.
overall the cd is very good and a great indie cd. in terms of extreme creativity or groundbreaking concepts, this is probably not your best pic, however is does have more than enough creativity mixed with very good music to be worhty of a trail.
enjoy it. i give it 3.5/5 merely cause that is a "great" album but i would say that i might at times want to rate it as 4/5.
best tracks are a cure, in particular, and hated because great qualities
