Brat Manslayer
solid meat and potatoes death metal / grind which sounds beefy and has cool feminist themes, but lacking the dynamics and sonic diversity to keep it engaging the whole way through like a top tier grind album 3.0

Krallice Scour Order
As a Krallice newbie, I thought this had a mix of jams that got me to lock tf in and fall into a trance, and long-winded noodlefests that meandered. 3.5

Noctule Extinguish Thy Flame
Elden Ring inspired melodic black metal from Serena Cherry of Svalbard. based 3.5

Pain of Truth (USA) Pain Of Truth
Above average toughguy beatdown stuff. I actually think the production is great and maybe my fav aspect - the bass has weight, the drums have punch, the riffs are sharp. its just that the songwriting and overall approach doesnt stray from the same beatdown hardcore doctrine thats been in place for like 30 years and offers very little new, nor does it ever push things to a 10. enjoyable for fans of this style but hardly essential. i can see them being a total blast live tho 3.0

Godflesh Decay
leans very heavily into the more experimental/noise side of Justin's palette, which isnt necessarily my fav side of Godflesh in isolation. therefore i thought a lot of this was a bit ho-hum, until the second half of the closer, then i was locked tf in. ryour mileage may vary, def one to sit in the darkness with good headphones on instead of one that'll get your head bobbin 3.5
