It has been reported that 3 Doors Down founding member and lead singer Brad Arnold has passed away at the age of 47.
News of Arnold's death was confirmed by the band via social media on Saturday. This comes just 9 months after the singer announced he had been diagnosed with Stage IV clear renal cell carcinoma in May of last year, leading the band to cancel their remaining tour dates for the rest of 2025. Despite his diagnosis, Arnold maintained a positive attitude. He passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family.

Canada's veteran indie-rockers Broken Social Scene return with their first full length album in nearly a decade. The band's sixth studio album, Remember The Humans, is set to release on City Slang May 8th. A new single, entitled "Not Around Anymore", was released today along with an accompanying lyric video.
Broken Social Scene plan to embark on a North American tour this summer in support of the upcoming album along with supporting acts Metric and Stars.

Chicago indie rock quartet Friko have announced their sophomore album, entitled Something Worth Waiting For, will be released April 24th on ATO records with production by John Congleton.

Micheal Majewski, former bassist/vocalist of brutal death metal band Devourment, has been recently charged with one count of Vehicular Manslaughter, and four counts of DUI with Serious Bodily Injury.
According to news footage, 5 people were in the car that Micheal hit, which caught on fire. Thankfully a good Samaritan and an officer were able to pull people out of the wreckage.

British alternative metal band Arcane Roots have officially returned after nearly 8 years of silence. The band marked their return with a brand new single, entitled 'A Wave, Across The Sea', their newest material since 2018's Landslide EP.

Denzel Curry has teamed up with Ferg, Bktherula, TiaCorine, and Key Nyata to form a group called The Scythe, and their debut project Strictly 4 The Scythe arrives on March 6 via Loma Vista.
The first single is 'Lit Effect' which is by Denzel, Bktherula, and LAZER DIM 700, and both the group mentality and the underground, regional vibes feel like a trip back to Denzel’s Raider Klan-era days.

The Polynesian band Shepherds Reign released a new single titled "TOA". Hailing from South Auckland, New Zealand, they are notable for blending metal music with a strong influence from the Samoan culture. The song, released in advance of the band's planned appearance on Shiprocked, is Shepherds' first new material since their breakthrough 2023 album Ala Mai.

Polish grunge outfit MadStone released a music video for their song "Monster". Clocking at a little over 7 minutes, it's the final track off their debut album Rust that dropped last September. Both the song and the video, starring Wika Matysiewicz and realized by One.seven studio, deal with substance abuse, hailed as the titular monster. The band is currently touring in support of the release.

Sydney-based Deathcore band Abrogation has posted a new song at its official YouTube location, titled “Hymn of the Dethroned Sun” from their upcoming album “Codex of the Collapsed”.
London Melodic Hardcore/Emo band Death of Youth have released the music video for the title track of their upcoming debut album Nothing Is The Same Anymore.
The track is a bittersweet song exploring the complexities of healing from trauma and grief and the nonlinearity of that process. The accompanying music video features animation resembling PS1 Horror Games of yesteryear such as Silent Hill.

UK band Static Dress have signed to Sumerian Records and dropped a new single to coincide, 'human props'.
Commenting on the signing, Sumerian Records president Shawn Keith says: "As Sumerian Records celebrates 20 years, we will usher in a new era of authentic and unconventional talent. Static Dress represents the quality of artistry we want to support."
No news on an album has been announced at this time but rumours point to a 2026 release now they are onboard with Sumerian.
Portuguese psychedelic pop/jazz artist Bruno Pernadas is releasing his 5th album in February of this year, titled 'Unlikely, Maybe'. This will be his first album since 2021's Private Reasons.

Matthew Kwasniewski-Kelvin, founding black midi member, has passed away. Rough Trade Records shared the sad news through an Instagram post, saying: "It is with deep sadness that we as a family regret to inform you that Matthew Kwasniewski-Kelvin has died after a long battle with his mental health." He was 26 years old.
In early 2021, Matt went on hiatus from the band for mental health reasons. Schlagenheim remains the only studio record that he was part of, essentially as a guitar player, but he also did vocals duties on "Years Ago".
