Josh Freese announced on his social media accounts that Foo Fighters decided to part ways with him. An odd move given his expertise and prowess as a drummer. He joined them in 2023, before the release of But Here We Are. No official information was provided by the band themselves as of yet. A few days ago, however, it was revealed they will play at the Singapore Grand Prix on October 4.
Read Freese's statement below:
"The Foo Fighters called me Monday night to let me know they’ve decided “to go in a different direction with their drummer.” No reason was given. : ( Regardless, I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage, and I support whatever they feel is best for the band. In my 40 years of drumming professionally, I’ve never been let go from a band, so while I’m not angry—just a bit shocked and disappointed. But as most of you know I’ve always worked freelance and bounced between bands so, I’m fine. Stay tuned for ...more

After several months of cryptic teasers, new band PRESIDENT have debuted their first single, "In the Name of the Father". The band appear to be managed by Future History Management, the same company that manages divisive pop/metal act Sleep Token.
Much like Sleep Token, PRESIDENT are an anonymous, masked band who have delivered most of their marketing through cryptic statements. Unlike Sleep Token, however, "In the Name of the Father" appears to be a far more straightforward metalcore/radio-friendly hard rock track.
Despite only having one single to their name, PRESIDENT have already secured a spot at this year's Download Festival, fueling speculation that the masked collective are either an industry plant or a supergroup (though the prevailing fan theory is a supergroup due to guesses about the lead singer's identity).

Due out on August 1st through Prophecy Productions, it sees the original line-up reunited, alongside old and new collaborators, who took part in the 20th anniversary tour for Choirs of the Eye.
According to Driver, the upcoming LP ''marks both a return and a progression from the band’s seminal debut by revisiting the compositional practices that defined it while pushing forward into uncharted territory. Rejecting traditional rock structures and the more predictable contours of metal, Every Rock… shapes a sound that feels familiar and alien at once, where custom-designed microtonal organs and guitars weave an effort to reconcile the impossible tension between past and future.
