Eternal Lord return 8 replies

Sixteen years after disbanding, UK metalcore band Eternal Lord have officially announced their return via Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eternallord_

The band revealed they’ve begun rehearsing, recording demos, and are eager to return to the stage.

Originally active during the mid-2000s MySpace era, Eternal Lord made a name for themselves between 2006 and 2008 with their blistering blend of deathcore and metalcore. In April 2007, they joined All That Remains on the Fall of Ideals European Tour, sharing the bill with Textures and Misery Signals.

In 2008, drummer Stuart McKay abruptly left the group just before a scheduled U.S. tour alongside The Acacia Strain, All Shall Perish, and Since The Flood. Around the same time, vocalist Ed Butcher (formerly of The Hunt for Ida Wave and I Killed the Prom Queen) also departed to pursue a career as a firefighter.

Kauan's way home 25 replies

Kauan announced a brand new album, Wayhome, due out on November 7 through Artoffact Records. Reportedly the most ambitious project of the group so far, it utilizes a 22-piece choir and at certain moments 1000 tracks, maxing out Logic Pro's multitrack limit. Aside from the vinyl, CD and streaming, it will also be available on Apple Music in Dolby Atmos.

The first song available for listening is "leave / let go". According to the band it serves "as both a standalone meditation and a crucial piece of the record’s larger narrative, the track captures the emotional weight of release—whether that means parting with a person, a place, or a former self. The song explores the act of departure as a form of healing—a necessary unraveling. It’s a pause on the larger journey, a moment of both surrender and transformation. In the context of Wayhome’s evolving fabric motif, “leave / let go” is where the first signs of wear appear: slight tears, faded color ...more

Presumably the lead single to the band's expected forthcoming EP Shock to the System, Part 2, after Part 1 arrived in September, the track continues Daughtry's progression towards lyrically dark and sonically heavy material, boasting of punishing instrumentals and screamed vocals from the American Idol alum on the outro.

Voyager have Seen Better Days 7 replies

Australian progressive metal group and Eurovision 2023 entrants Voyager have released their first new music for 18 months, since their European tour was cancelled in light of frontman Danny Estrin's Stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

The new single, "Seen Better Days", lyrically confronts the effects of Estrin's battle with cancer since. Says Estrin:

“Difficult times yield dark music. It won’t come as a surprise that ‘Seen Better Days‘ is a personal account of the 18 months of hell, through chemotherapy, radiation and surgery that I have endured. Embracing the beautiful love and support I have received from friends, family and fans while often putting on a brave face in the horrid abyss of stage 4 cancer is no easy feat, so I felt it was right to put it to words and music.
Somehow as brutally vulnerable as the song is, it still maintains an uplifting melancholy and, despite its crushing ending, manages a breath of optimism through the b ...more
