In Mourning's new Immortal LP 19 replies

Swedish progressive death/doom metal band In Mourning announced their newest album The Immortal, which will be released on August 29th.

Quoting Tobias Netzell (lead vocals, guitar):

"This album has the best sounding balance between organic and modern metal I've ever heard. From the very start of the writing process I had this vision of making the album sound incredible, massive and huge. Kind of a darker tone than previous releases, and like a cold wind blowing throughout the whole record with a slight touch of black metal."

Tracklist :

1. The Immortal
2. Silver Crescent
3. Song of the Cranes
4. As Long as the Twilight Stays
5. The Sojourner
6. Moonless Sky
7. Staghorn
8. North Star
9. The Hounding

Psudoku unleash space grind 5 replies

Norwegian experimental grindcore band Psudoku have released their new album, Psudoktrination, a chaotic burst of what the band calls “progressive space grind,” which can be streamed in its entirety on Bandcamp: https://psudoku.bandcamp.com/album/psudoktrination

In the band's own words:

"Not even the most sophisticated recommender systems will accurately predict your preference for this integration between sparse, echo effected grunts and metallic clanks dominated by fast space grind drumming and complex electric strings. Space junk special effects pollute the atmosphere, while the occasional wah pedal magnifies the radioactivity of the numerous barre chords, all in order to psudoktrinate audience members for several minutes at a time."

New Sinsaenum song, lineup 1 replies

Death metal supergroup Sinsaenum have returned with a new single and album.
The group had been working on new material after the end of touring for their 2017 effort Repulsion For Humanity, but progress came to an abrupt halt with the death of drummer Joey Jordison (Slipknot, Vimic, Murderdolls et al) in 2021.

However, in 2023 it was revealed that work on the new album was continuing, followed by more silence until they announced a comeback show at Tyrant Fest in France later this year. This has now been followed by the release of the track "In Devastation", the lead single from the 3rd album of the same name. In Devastation is set for release 8 August 2025.

However, the track credits indicate that not all members from the group's initial run are returning to the fold. While vocalist Sean Zatorsky (Dååth, ex-Chimaira) and guitarist Frédéric Leclercq (Kreator, Loudblast, Amahiru, ex-DragonForce) have remained, the credits list Nathanael ...more

Foo Fighters fire Josh Freese 63 replies

Josh Freese announced on his social media accounts that Foo Fighters decided to part ways with him. An odd move given his expertise and prowess as a drummer. He joined them in 2023, before the release of But Here We Are. No official information was provided by the band themselves as of yet. A few days ago, however, it was revealed they will play at the Singapore Grand Prix on October 4.

Read Freese's statement below:

"The Foo Fighters called me Monday night to let me know they’ve decided “to go in a different direction with their drummer.” No reason was given. : ( Regardless, I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage, and I support whatever they feel is best for the band. In my 40 years of drumming professionally, I’ve never been let go from a band, so while I’m not angry—just a bit shocked and disappointed. But as most of you know I’ve always worked freelance and bounced between bands so, I’m fine. Stay tuned for ...more

PRESIDENT's inaugural address 121 replies

After several months of cryptic teasers, new band PRESIDENT have debuted their first single, "In the Name of the Father". The band appear to be managed by Future History Management, the same company that manages divisive pop/metal act Sleep Token.

Much like Sleep Token, PRESIDENT are an anonymous, masked band who have delivered most of their marketing through cryptic statements. Unlike Sleep Token, however, "In the Name of the Father" appears to be a far more straightforward metalcore/radio-friendly hard rock track.

Despite only having one single to their name, PRESIDENT have already secured a spot at this year's Download Festival, fueling speculation that the masked collective are either an industry plant or a supergroup (though the prevailing fan theory is a supergroup due to guesses about the lead singer's identity).
