My Dying Bride part ways with vocalist 51 replies

British doom/death long runners My Dying Bride have parted ways with original member Aaron Stainthorpe.

The band issued the following statement through social media:

My Dying Bride have decided to part ways with vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe.

Please understand that this decision does not come lightly, hence our initial and painful silence while we gathered our thoughts and carefully considered our response to the disengaged, eerily abandoned state we suddenly found ourselves in.

Our collective decision to move forward without him is not something we thought we would ever be forced to say, but to ensure a continued legacy for what we hold dear to our hearts, we simply have to move past this. Whilst change can be difficult, we are doing our best to bring this new chapter forward with powerful positivity.

My Dying Bride are not on hiatus, we were never on hiatus. However, we do genuinely wish Aaron all the luck in th ...more

I am beyond grateful for the incredible past 9 years with Trivium—filled with unforgettable moments, music, and friendships that I’ll always carry with me. I’m so proud of every record and tour we created together, and I know Trivium will continue to dominate the world; they’ll always have my support.

While this chapter has come to a close, this is by no means the end of my path as a musician. I’m excited for this new chapter, and I look forward to continuing to create, perform, and share music in new ways. Thank you ...more

Lamb of God's "Sepsis" single 30 replies

Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, "Sepsis" is a slow-burn slab of sludge-tinged heaviness, with Randy Blythe digging into guttural lows and the band leaning into tension over speed. Lyrically and contextually, it's a love letter to Lamb of God's roots and a tribute to the underground Richmond bands (Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, Ladyfinger) that shaped them in their basement days. This is the band's newest offering since 2022's Omens.

New Thornhill Single 11 replies

Australian's Thornhill have released a standalone single “Mercia" as they kick off their U.S. support run for Sleep Token’s Even in Arcadia tour.

"Frontman Jacob Charlton describes “Mercia” as a deeply emotional track about “loving someone lost in their own abyss.” He says it explores the ache of pouring out warmth, devotion, even the hope of carrying someone’s pain—only to be met with silence and defenses, by “vaults” and “ice.” It’s a song about how struggles that resist healing leave you altered, hardened, haunted, and ultimately unable to offer mercy."

These are the band's first works under Century Media Records as well as without their late drummer Jamie Gowers. Louis Doran, a touring member, provided drums on the new tracks. No news about a potential new album for now.

The band's vocalist, Charlie Rolfe, on the new song:
You give everything you have, your whole being, your whole life, to help someone but it’s never enough if they don’t want to help themselves. I really struggled to understand how someone close to me couldn’t see my point of view in the awful situation we were in. They were angry when I helped, they were angry when I gave them space, they were angry when I stayed, they were angry when I left. It destroyed my confidence and my self-worth having to live in an environment where nothing I ever did was good enough. It hurts deeply to w ...more

R.I.P. Tomas Lindberg 51 replies

In a recent social media post, At The Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg has officially passed away. Back in March, Lindberg revealed that he was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, an aggressive form of mouth cancer. Later in May, a "medical setback" forced Lindberg to be placed in long-term care.

The band was in the middle of recording their upcoming 8th studio album, though Lindberg's vocals were finished the day before his surgery. While the album is expected to drop eventually, the future of the band's fate is now uncertain.

Lindberg was only 52 years old. Rest in Peace.
