I've started listening to Cascada, and realised how goddamn rrrawful they were (despite rthe huge wave of nostalgia that rrcame listening to them). rHowever, all amongst the rcrap, rrthere were a few gems that are pop gold. | | 1 | Cascada
Everytime We Touch
Near enough everyone knows this song, I have yet to meet someone who hasn't. Somehow it
managed to chart very well (Top 10 in the US & very high elsewhere) in a time where Dance music
wasn't part of the mainstream norm (and it was Eurodance of all things). Hugely addictive and is a
brilliant pop tune to boot. | | 2 | Fever
Taken from their Evacuate The Dancefloor album, this the song that in Cascada's history, the
one that got away. Commercially, it didn't do too badly... except for the fact that it was their first
song that didnt reach Top 100 in the UK. Which is a crying shame, really, as this is easily the best
song from that album. Uptempo song that sounds a lot different from their earlier material with an
unusually catchy chorus. | | 3 | Independence Day
From their forth album Original Me (the ironic thing is that the album is so unoriginal that they rip
off their own songs shamelessly, "Pyromania" is a rip-off of "Evacuate The Dancefloor" & "Night
Nurse" is a rip-off of "Pyromania"). With this song, they take the trend of hip-hop songs like
"Airplanes" before it, throw in some good old Cascada synths, bring their friend Carlprit to do the
verses, have a piano accompaniment alongside these synths & have a random electric guitar lead at
the end. Result: one of Cascada's most interesting experiments which is surprisingly not as bad as it
sounds. Though Carlprit does sound suspiciously like B.o.B. at times... | | 4 | Evacuate The Dancefloor
When their album Perfect Day was released, it received a heavy negative response from a critical
perspective and was nowhere near as successful as their debut album Everytime We Touch,
Cascada
resorted to making an album that moved away from their euro-dance beats and horrific covers to
some original songs (I say "original" loosely), this is the result. A song that kept Micheal Jackson off
Number 1 in the UK and successfully ripping off Lady Gaga. That is no mean feat. However the
bridge with Carlprit has gotten rather corny after all this time, which is why it is rather low on the

Of an album full of shit (shares the same name with this song), this is the only saving grace that
doesn't make it fall completely on it's face (rhymes). A lot more like "Everytime We Touch", this
song is even more energetic and basically a F-you to the guy that wronged Natalie (instead of the "I
want to F-You" like the former was), with her rather powerful vocals. | |
