12.27.15 | iTunes is nice looking but pretty resource heavy and not super flexible
foobar2000 is really light on resources but not good looking at all by default. you can customize it a lot though and make it really nice.
I have foobar2k on my computer but don't use it much. mostly I just use spotify. it might seem expensive or whatever (especially if you're used to pirating everything), but it's incredibly convenient to just be able to search and play pretty much any music you want to listen to, and you can save the library and all.
I wouldn't recommend youtube, you can often find some pretty obscure music but it can be problematic to find newer whole albums or album playlists, and copyright claims happen all the time. |

12.27.15 | Foobar still requires me to download everything I want and then copy it to the library or? |

12.27.15 | Eh, I use Google Play. Syncs onto all your devices, works pretty well for me. |

12.27.15 | I use Spotify Free Edition with ad blocker and it blocks every single ad. It's constant streaming music. It is PC only though - this won't work on a mobile device. |

12.27.15 | @Palatial as in it only plays music that's stored on the computer, not streaming? yeah. just re-read your description and realized you probably want something that uses streaming. if what someguest said is true that'd probably work pretty well for you. and google play is also pretty nice, although I'm not a huge fan of the android app. |

I'm surprised Youtube would even cross anyone's mind as a practical "music player". |

12.27.15 | Foobar is very convenient if you like to convert your music into multiple formats and can play pretty much any audio with tons of extensions if necessary. It may not look pretty without tweaks, but works very efficiently and uncomplicated. I'm not sure about its abilities for huge libraries though, since I'm not in need for that. |
