No, really, this. Find something (ANYTHING) you even marginally enjoy, and then find people on the internet who at least marginally enjoy it (and no matter what it is, there will be people who enjoy it). You at least have people to talk to. And if it's a hobby or a craft or something of the sort, you have something to spend your time on.
Hell, my first year of college was basically me in my room doing very little else but playing Civilazation III and SimCity 4 (well...at least until I discovered Ultimate Frisbee). But yeah, there were definitely people who were into those things (there's actually a HUGE SC4 community online). Music is a big one, too ;-)

Growing up with abuse, addiction and other issues in my family I had no clue how to successfully interact with 'normal' people in the world. Becoming a waiter changed everything. Not saying I am the most successful dude out there, but 4 years married at 26 and a shitload of good friends, 2 jobs etc... I'm not doing too bad. You can succeed man, you just gotta throw yourself out there and forget the fear, anxiety and restraint holding you back |

@lotide: man, your situation is serious. I can recognize myself in many of your troubles, but it's not nearly as bad. Looks like you need a truly good friend who can help you and share some wisdom with you. But those are not common unfortunately. Try a counselor maybe? And don't worry about 2,3,4. It's of major importance to be at peace with yourself first, it's not a rush. Music and movies have helped me a lot in developing and recognizing my emotions. Don't know if it helps for you. And try to seek the opportunity for a new job, once that you will like, practicing a job you loathe isn't helping things. |
