| Calling All Bass Players
Hello bass players, and guitarists I guess. I'm thinking of buying a Gibson EB 2013 bass, but want to know if it has a thick neck, as I play, or feel more comfortable, with Jazz style necks.
The Gibson EB has a 1.65" nut/12'' radius neck.
Just wondering if they're like G&L necks (which, to me, are friggin huge lol) or if it's a little smaller.
Anyone played one? | 1 | | Solar Fields Red | 2 | | Cyclamen Ashura | 3 | | Faith No More The Real Thing | |

06.21.14 | piece of advice: don't go for a modern gibson at least not one after 2007 or around that time, there's been some real quality control issues with the build quality (unreliable woods, crap wood etc.) in recent years. | DrGonzo1937
06.21.14 | Really? The reviews for this have been great. | joshuahuntkc
06.21.14 | I don't know anything about the newer ones but I have a 2003 and ive played a 2008. As long as they haven't changed their specs the necks have always been pretty slim and very playable. | Slut
06.21.14 | The only bass I really use now is my precision bass. I may get a jazz one idk though | ZombicidalMan
06.21.14 | Nihilist is right, I haven't found more than a few great Gibsons that are post-2008. QC and wood choice really slipped.
Personally I'd go for a Music Man Stingray or a G&L (since you can order a thinner neck on the American ones). I like baseball bat necks on guitars and bass anyways though. | DrGonzo1937

06.22.14 | Not massive on the Musicman if I'm honest Zombicidalman, the necks are quite beefy for a kick off, but feel aside, I never really liked the tone of them. |
