TalonsOfFire: Top 100 Opeth Songs

TalonsOfFire 02.23.22	ICV is an improvement over the previous two, but I can't rate it higher than even Deliverance because it has a few of their worst songs on it as well.
Eakflanderyof 02.23.22	Pretty solid ranking overall. A few that I vehemently disagree with but that's bound to happen with 100 songs. I'd put the garroter, karma, weakness, and Hex Omega in the upper 50. Also, probably lotus eater

TalonsOfFire 02.23.22	Thanks friends. Heritage is a bit uneven imo, but still excellent and the best songs are really something. This includes all their bonus tracks. The heavier Sorceress songs would also be higher if they were the Garden of the Titans versions.
shibole 02.24.22	Deliverance at 43 is also brutal. That's like a top three track for sure. Lopez is such a beast.
TalonsOfFire 02.24.22	The Garroter just doesn’t really work for me, but the intro and outro are good. I love the top 50, and the 25 below that I really like too. It’s just the bottom 8 or so I don’t care for.

Trifolium 02.24.22	Some things I super agree with, some make me a little sad. Your lower ranks are spot on I'd say, apart from Famine and In Most She Was Standing (!) and The Devil's Orchard. Plus to many BWP/SL tunes near the top hihihihi.

Demon of the Fall 02.24.22	most of the entries below this point are spot-on, but from 72 upwards it looks all over the place to me I knew that would be the case upon seeing your album ranking.
Trifolium 02.24.22	Agreed Demon, that bit hurt like crazy. Three ultra good tracks. Even including Karma 😱
TalonsOfFire 02.24.22	Sorceress is their worst album! Btw my album ranking is pretty much in line with the rating averages, aside from liking Heritage a lot. Hex Omega is good but c’mon, hardly top 50 material given how many amazing songs they have. I know Karma is beloved but I’ve never considered it one of the best. I love the middle section though. Also something from Orchid was gonna be in the 60s or 70s. I just prefer the others on that album to Mist, but I still think it’s good of course.
Demon of the Fall 02.24.22	Mist is easily a top 10 Opeth song for me, weirded me out seeing it as the lowest ranked Orchid cut although I love Orchid in general, have it as their 2nd best overall, so that probably changes one's perspective on such things
TalonsOfFire 02.24.22	Orchid does have amazing atmosphere. Some of the songwriting is pretty disjoined and meandering though. I'm someone who most loves the three they made after Morningrise, and Ghost Reveries too, when they were more refined and proggy. My taste for extreme metal vocals has also dissipated over the years, so my making this list now might be skewed toward their songs that're jammier and with more instrumental sections.

TalonsOfFire 03.25.22	They finally released an English version of Cirkelns Riktning, which translates to Width of a Circle. It's ok but probably doesn't change in my ranking.
Egarran 03.26.22	As an almost Swedish person I feel obliged to say that the direct translation is Direction of the Circle.
Sowing 03.26.22	Very respectable list. I'm not sure what my favorite is but it could easily be Bleak. Also have huge soft spots for Heir Apparent, The Lotus Eater, Beneath the Mire, and Windowpane.

TalonsOfFire 03.27.22	Yeah funny coincidence both songs have the same name, and the Opeth one not being a cover. There're two more bonus tracks on ICV I just found out, only on some special edition but they were uploaded to YT and someone posted a link in that album thread.
