Supercoolguy64
02.13.16 | my mom and dad really want to go see it and i guess they're gonna take me with
kinda not looking forward to it because a) it's a comedy and b) its a super hero flick, and seeing how i hate both I'm not expecting much of it |
Spado
02.13.16 | funny as in good or bad |
MyNameIsPencil
02.13.16 | is there a porn parody of it yet |
ZippaThaRippa
02.13.16 | According to the white mothers of the world, it already is a porn |
ScuroFantasma
02.13.16 | It's actually really good, definitley recommend it. Makes full use of the rating too. |
SgtAenema
02.13.16 | seeing it tomorrow. cant wait. |

02.13.16 | I heard it was terrible. |

02.13.16 | Just kidding no ones saying that. |

02.13.16 | Ryan Reynolds is the sexiest man to have ever lived. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | no way dude |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | movie is gonna be a nice change of pace. its a good year for superhero movies since we get to see fox and dc overshadow the consistently forgettable and dull marvel films |
zaruyache
02.13.16 | i will say pots that the newest trailer for BvS actually brings the hype back to make up for those abysmal earlier trailers, buuuuut obvsly the marvel movies have been pretty good.
Seeing Deadpool tomorrow and I haven't been this hyped since I don't know when. Maybe since Interstellar? Or Guardians of the Galaxy. |
Source
02.13.16 | Does it even come close to being as good as Dredd? |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | i can't give the marvel films the credit of being 'pretty good' as a whole. individually is a different story but as a universe they are painfully formulaic and fleeting. absolutely zero replay value and as shallow as a petri dish. they leave a lot to be desired. lots of immediate gratification thinly veiling messy story telling, poor character development, and cheap comic relief.
that being said i will continue to go see all of them.
i have moderately high hopes for civil war.
but yeah deadpool is going to be an awesome and fresh experience. im especially excited to see them do colossus right. also cable for the sequel makes me hard.
age of apocalypse is shaping up to look awesome too |
BallsToTheWall
02.13.16 | Ryan is #2. Alain Delon is #1.
Dredd rules. Dead Pool rules. Leave it at that Source. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | "Ryan is #2. Alain Delon is #1."
definitely not |
BallsToTheWall
02.13.16 | To each their own. Delon is my champion tho. |

02.13.16 | reynolds is just too silly lookin. |

02.13.16 | Well I had to ask. Dredd is my favorite comic book movie. |
BallsToTheWall
02.13.16 | Reynolds is so ripped and witty though. That longevity man...
They aren't really similar other than the fact that they both fuckin rule hard. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | dredd was amazing yeah |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | "Reynolds is so ripped and witty though."
i don't like his weird little mouth and his stupid little eyes and i especially hate the whole philtrum area of his face it looks fucking dumb. sure he's ripped, but i dont find him terribly witty either, in fact i have hated him in literally everything i've seen him in to date as far as i can remember. but i think he will do deadpool well. |
BallsToTheWall
02.13.16 | Well said. My other nominee is Fassbender. I'm still chapped that no theaters around me ever showed Macbeth. That looked epic as hell. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | i can support Fassbender for sure. |
TheSpirit
02.13.16 | i am looking forward to this movie, but definitely not to the extent of everyone else. i know that the character had a cult following, but honestly, the bandwagoning has been kind of turn-off for me. i know that's more my issue than anything else, but whatever. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | deadpool has never been as cool of a character as everyone makes him out to be tbh, the fanaticism is pretty pedestrian. there are tonnes of way cooler characters in the universe. the best comics he's in are never good because of him but instead good because of the dynamics between him and other much more intriguing characters. since he breaks the 4th wall all the time its interesting to see him provide a perspective shift that can bring out the more eclectic traits of other characters.
thats why i loved him when he was a part of x-force even though everyone else on the team was a better character than him. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | now if we ever get to see an R-rated x-force film with a line-up that includes Fantomex i will actually shit my pants. Fantomex is easily the most hilarious marvel character ever created. |
user
02.13.16 | "kinda not looking forward to it because a) it's a comedy and b) its a super hero flick, and seeing how i hate both I'm not expecting much of it"
how can you hate comedy?

02.13.16 | "badass the scene in the new bvs trailer where batman was kicking the shit out of those thugs was?"
I'm just happy they fixed the editing and audio during the "batman tries to run supes over" clip to make the Batmobile not look/sound like an RC model that goes "bonk!" when it thumps into him and then the wall. The bit with WW was pretty great, too. |
Deathconscious
02.13.16 | "kinda not looking forward to it because a) it's a comedy and b) its a super hero flick, and seeing how i hate both I'm not expecting much of it"
you...hate comedies. either you watch shitty comedy or you hate fun as well. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | yeah but thats literally like 80% of what deadpool comic books are anyways so thats a non-issue. |

02.13.16 | Dick jokes are new. |

legit surprised you didnt find it 'cheesy' |
Deathconscious
02.13.16 | im just interested because there arent any other adult superhero movies out there, at least not that im aware of. unless you count Unbreakable. |
Deathconscious
02.13.16 | oh and Watchmen, but that movie was garbage. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | by adult do you mean R-rated? pretty sure all the blade and punisher movies were R
if u just mean catered to adults i'd argue deadpool is still pretty not adult oriented regardless of its ratings tho judging from how crude and immature the humour in the trailer is. i dont remember what watchmen was rated but that seems much more 'adult' than deadpool if we are talking about it outside of ratings. |
zaruyache
02.13.16 | i mean it was kinda cheesy the way they did it, but godamnit WW HAS to be good. If they mess her up it's gonna be a big problem. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts

02.13.16 | if we get a wolverine/deadpool/cable movie out of this then yea thatd be cool
movie was great |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | we've got enough wolverine. he doesnt need to be involved. cable will hopefully follow with characters like fantomex, marrow, doc nemesis, more colossus and psylocke, domino, warpath, and forge
even some x-23 would be cool |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | it would be especially awesome to see a psychologically unhinged marrow ala X-Force volume 4 |
MyNameIsPencil
02.13.16 | i want the spider-man story arc where he's an old man and his radioactive jizz killed mary jane put to film |
wwf
02.13.16 | 'kind of surprised to hear so many good things about it, the previews made it seem incredibly unfunny'
yeah I thought it looked awful too
is it all butt jokes because the trailers looked practically adam sandlerish |
ScuroFantasma
02.13.16 | No it isn't, although there are still a few of those kinds of jokes there's much better ones throughout.
"if u just mean catered to adults i'd argue deadpool is still pretty not adult oriented regardless of its ratings tho judging from how crude and immature the humour in the trailer is."
It's not for kids that's for sure, no matter that the trailer would have you believe. The trailer was actually a pretty bad representation of how the movie really is tbh. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | yeah but not being adult oriented doesnt mean its kid oriented. there are things in between. like immature young adults and teenagers who like ass and sex jokes. |
Asdfp277
02.13.16 | i don't get this thread, is the movie good or bad? |
ScuroFantasma
02.13.16 | Yeah that's true, and it does kind of sit around that level actually. But it's not all just crude humour, it's sorta sprinkled in there. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.16 | word word |

02.13.16 | "also cable for the sequel makes me hard."

ShitsofRain
02.13.16 | deadpools a joke |
Sinternet
02.13.16 | Not sure if i'll go see it, on one hand it might breathe some life into a genre that's becoming stale and repetitive fast, on the other hand the humuor just seems too juvenile from what i've heard, and the character is way over-hyped in general. |
Calc
02.13.16 | from where? other than marvel v capcom 3 this character was almost never mentioned anywhere recently. unless you frequent marvel forums which in case..... |

02.15.16 | It's a solid 7/10 or so.
Wouldn't call it a memorable movie. |
Deathconscious
02.15.16 | so this is kind of unrelated but i went to see the new Star Wars a few weeks ago and after the part where Ren throws his tatrum came on, this jackass said loud enough for everyone to hear, "clean up on isle 7." a few people actually laughed. made me wish i was watching The Dark Knight Rises in 2012. |

02.15.16 | just saw it with my brother, though it was great and i fuckin hated the recent cookie cutter guardians of the galaxy-esque superhero "comical" shit |

02.15.16 | "dopee, ^ you've prob seen Oldboy and A Tale of two sisters?"
Yup, and Breathless may just be my favourite movie of all time. I just keep finding gem after gem: The Chaser, Yellow Sea, Memories of Murder, A Dirty Carnival, Hwayi: A Monster Boy, J.S.A.: Joint Security Area
and the absolutely brilliant A Bittersweet Life |

02.15.16 | Choi Min-sik is one of the best actors around.
Have you seen any movies by Kim Ki-duk? He did some of the most polarizing stuff I've seen. Not that I'm a big fan of his, but it's always interesting to see how people react to his work.
Also, I recommend every movie by Park Chan-wook. Oldboy might be the best, but every single one of his movies is a masterpiece imo. |
Shuyin
02.15.16 | The whole revenge trilogy is awesome, Lady Vengeance was weird as hell tho. I've never seen anything by Kim Ki-duk but I'll add some of his stuff to my watchlist |
ScuroFantasma
02.15.16 | Album art for 3 is pretty awesome |
Rik VII
02.15.16 | Kim is definitely worth checking out, even if you hate his work. Check "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring", "Samaritan Girl" and "Bin-jip". As I said, I'm not the biggest fan of his style, but it's very interesting nonetheless.
Park, on the other hand, is my favorite director of all time. |
Shuyin
02.15.16 | I'll check it out, thanks mate |
ZippaThaRippa
02.15.16 | Is Kim Ki-Duk's work thematically similar to PCW? |
Rik VII
02.15.16 | Not at all imo. There's some approach on the theme of crime and punishment here and there, but then again, it's pretty common for Korean movies to deal with that topic. Altogether, the movies of Kim Ki-duk focus more on people trying to deal with their lives in quirky ways by delivering insight into their daily routines, e.g. those of Korean monks in "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring".
Park's movies are more storydriven and deal with themes of morality, more like someone who shows you a situation and asks the question: "Would this be right?" Some situations in his movies can be understood as philosophical mind games concerning ethical questions. Just think about the final act of Lady Vengeance and you'll see what I mean. It's all about that grey spot and the question "What would you say, what would be the right thing to do?"
I wouldn't say that Kim Ki-duk is that interested in "right" and "wrong", he just shows some strange people doing strange things.
As I see it, "Samaritan Girl" is the movie by Kim that comes closest to what Park is trying to convey - that's my favorite Kim Ki-duk film, coincidentally. |
hal1ax
02.18.16 | just saw this and its hilarious. really surprised me. i never read the Deadpool comic so this might seem idiotic but, how does he die?? i mean he gets a metal spike lodged into his head and hardly seemed affected. like does he have to be decapitated? |
OmairSh
02.18.16 | I know I'm in the minority with my opinion. I thought the movie was very well made, however was lacking slightly in the writing department. There were loads of good jokes, and then others that weren't as intelligent and fell flat. But one thing I felt was that there weren't enough jokes, and off kilter ones at that. I mean Deadpool is a guy that's not supposed to shut up, and is meant to mock normal movie conventions, but I felt that the movie fell right into them at times. There also needed to be more 4th wall breaks and some speech bubbles as well. It also got too serious for it's own good for a while.
But it was an agonizingly long wait and was good to see a studio actually release an r rated superhero movie, and it's amazing to see it doing so well. |
