Top Ten Genesis Songs (valid Points)

I saw an embarrassing Genesis list today. So, I decided to do the internet a favor.
1Genesis
Supper's Ready

At a hefty 22 minutes, this track has everything that could possibly be loved about the early Genesis. If offers a critical progressive performance that snakes through emotional ballads, complex passages, and rock anthems all at the same time. An undisputed classic by any early Genesis fan.
2The Cinema Show

This track, being a sendoff of Romeo and Juliet and other such early stories of Romanticism, takes a major step forward in terms of beauty, power, and complexity, revealing the best conditions of the band. Perhaps one of the best tracks on Selling England by the Pound, alongside Firth of Fifth.
3Firth of Fifth

This song has to be one of the most beautiful Genesis songs composed to this day. It harbors the gentle nature of Tony Banks' keyboard abilities and the nostalgic vocals and instrumentals by Peter Gabriel and the rest of the group. This and The Cinema Show easily tie each other for the best of their own album.
4In the Cage

The Lamb Lies down on Broadway is indeed the driving nature of Genesis in the Gabriel age and their continuous success factor in the early days. No doubt is In the Cage a major proof of that, because it harbors some of the best instrumental technicality on the album, and a driving group of lyrics.
5The Fountain of Salmacis

I've have always been split between this song and The Musical Box. Both are amazing signs of the better Genesis to arrive. But, because of the climax in this song and my personal preference, this song just barely takes the higher place.
6The Musical Box

One of the most wholly obsessed concepts and the first groundbreaking ones that always comes back to bite me always seems to come from this song. It is the essential flavor of Genesis that demonstrates what justice the early lineup would do for prog rock.
7The Knife

The earliest Genesis song that shows the spirit of the prog age. Gabriel's vocals lash out at the listener, and the music is absolute intensity, to say the least.
8Los Endos

A sensational instrumental that is upbeat, and shows that the old Genesis hadn't completely left after Gabriel left.
9Watcher of the Skies

A trademark Genesis anthem that has become the stuff of legend and acclaim. And it ultimately proves this: Genesis can and WILL rock.
10The Carpet Crawlers

For some time, I put down Afterglow as number ten. I had completely forgotten that the Carpet Crawlers, a standout The Lamb track, existed. What was I thinking?
