More Classical Jams

just a follow up to my last list, some classical stuff I've been digging lately. recs welcome as well!
1Maurice Ravel
Piano Concerto for the Left Hand in D major

such a beautiful piece. been rather impressed by Ravel so far just based on the few works I've heard.
2Gustav Mahler
Symphony No. 5 in C sharp minor

first symphony from Mahler I got into. it's quite epic
3Gustav Mahler
Symphony No. 9

quite different than symphony number 5, but still excellent. I haven't heard his other stuff yet
4Felix Mendelssohn
String Quartet No. 6, Op. 80

one of the better string quartets I've heard though I haven't heard too many just yet
5Ludwig van Beethoven
Piano Sonata No. 29, Op. 106

just one of many great piano sonatas by Beethoven! they say this is one of his most difficult piano pieces to play and I can definitely believe it.
6Edvard Grieg
Piano Concerto in A Minor

somewhat simple, but really pretty/relaxing piece
7Johann Sebastian Bach
Violin Partita No.2 in D minor, BWV 1004

very poignant and affecting piece by bach. Havey rec'd this to me like a year ago so here's a late shout out. gets better the more you listen to it
8Robert Schumann
Cello Concerto in A Minor (Op. 129)

not as fantastic as his piano concerto, but still nice
9Franz Schubert
String Quartet No. 13 in A Minor, D.804, Op.29

this and death and the maiden both rule. one of the most reliable composers of his time as far as I'm concerned.
10Maurice Ravel
String Quartet in F Major

very interesting and engaging string quartet
11Franz Schubert
Symphony No. 5 in B♭ major, D. 485

it's not his best symphony, but it's just so damn accessible
12Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Piano Concerto No. 1 in B♭ Minor

don't think I included this on my last list. Unfortunately I'll have to bump it down from a 5/5 but this was the first piece by Tchaikovsky that actually got me interested in his work. Very nice piece and his second piano concerto is quite lovely as well
13Alessandro Marcello
Marcello: 6 Concertos La Cetra & Concerto in D Min

I'm including this one mainly because it needs more recognition. fans of bach or just baroque in general need to listen to this
