10.11.14 | So yeah, I like Steve Morse |
Onirium
10.11.14 | Cool list, needs Flying Colors though |
OmairSh
10.11.14 | I haven't been able to get through that album even. Old Morse stuff on the other hand is legendary. |
Onirium
10.11.14 | Flying Colors have some cool jams, but yeah they're very pale compared to the Dregs |
OmairSh
10.11.14 | Morse has been too inclined towards hard rock of late, he needs to go back to his roots again. |
Onirium
10.11.14 | Some of his hard rock stuff is cool though, Out in their Standing Field had some good songs, and he still
has killer solos in Flying Colors. But I agree new Dregs album would be awesome
Also, I don't know what Angelfire is but the cover looks pretty awful |
OmairSh
10.11.14 | Yeah his solo stuff has got some mad riffs and cool songs, but he's done enough of that now. My life would be complete if he did another Dregs album. Angelfire is mellow folk/pop/acoustic stuff, kind of in the vain of High tension wires with a female vocalist. Its really soothing, you might enjoy it |
beefshoes
10.12.14 | Never jammed Dregs before. Where to start? |
OmairSh
10.12.14 | I'd say start either with What If, but the whole discog is extremely solid. Andy West is an
absolute monster on the
bass, its seriously scary how good he is |
Titan
10.12.14 | 'Cool list, needs Flying Colors though'
agreed, the new album is pretty damn good - and nothing like their debut |
undertakerpt
10.12.14 | Andy west is a stinkin bass player!
On air have you heard the song cruise missile by Steve morse band? The bass player on there is even filthier! |
OmairSh
10.12.14 | Yeah man Dave LaRue's a beast as well, but Andy's playing most of that stuff with a fucking PICK!! Jerry
Peek's another fantastic bassist that was the original one in the SMB
@Titan: I might check the new Flying Colours record out but I'm sure it doesn't even come close to the
Dreg's stuff. That's otherworldly |
Onirium
10.12.14 | The new Flying Colors is great, but falls a little too much into prog clichés most of the time in my opinion. It's definitely more fleshed out than the debut though |
