09.25.13 | I wouldn't mind doing a metal review as long as its not death metal, death core, or any of the more recent generic metal core horseshit. Not that I don't like death metal or death core I just don't feel like reviewing any at the moment. I would really like to do a decent hardcore or post hardcore album. |
joshuahuntkc
09.25.13 | I'll give it a shot, I honestly have listened to a whole lot of pop so I might not be the best authority haha. |

joshuahuntkc
09.25.13 | @StallionMang I was thinking about it but the review is a 4 and it's by staff. I'd be giving it a 4 or a 4.5 and most of my opinions are the same as the staff review so I don't really see the point. |
joshuahuntkc
09.25.13 | I'm honestly not sure yet, I'm thinking it's 3.5 material but I'll probably listen again as I write the review, it has potential as a 4. |

09.25.13 | I will either have the Porcupine Tree or the Daniel Bedingfield up tonight/tomorrow morning. Both reviews are done. I'm working on Lil Ugly Mane right now and it's some of the best hip hop I have heard in a while. The beats are killer. |

Yeah I noticed you like a lot of singer/writer stuff which is why I decided to rec you something similar to that but with an ambient influence so it would be familiar but a bit different at the same time (not sure how much you're into ambient/field recordings and stuff like that). |

10.01.13 | I am not planning on putting a review up tonight, but I will either tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm taking some time to go through the music a little bit differently than I did during that last wave of reviews, but it should turn out basically the same way. Again, thanks for all the rec's they are all great albums in there own respective ways and it's making writing the reviews a lot more interesting and challenging. |

I gave it a listen, I'm digging it pretty hard. I'll have a review up after I get through a few more of these! |
joshuahuntkc
10.01.13 | @JamieTwort That Benoit Pioulard album kind of reminds me of Grizzly Bear's Yellow House album and The Microphones' The Glow Pt. 2 with the atmosphere of some of Mount Eerie. Forsure digging it. I'm gonna spin it for a bit before I write the review but I should have it done sometime this week or weekend! |
JamieTwort
10.01.13 | @josh: Glad you're digging it man. I can see the connection between Pioulard and those artists you mentioned but personally
I prefer Pioulard's work to those artists/albums (except Yellow Bear which I can't comment on as I haven't heard it). I love his
use of field recordings and ambience mixed with his folky song based style. |
joshuahuntkc
10.01.13 | Yeah it'll still have to grow on me I'm sure but I can see it at a 4.0 right now. It's very very creative that's for sure. I've always been a big fan of The Microphones/Mount Eerie so it'll be hard pressed to top that for me but I can understand why you like him so much.
It's not yellow bear btw, it's the band Grizzly Bear. They have an album called Yellow House which I can hear some similarities too. Grizzly Bear is quite a bit more at the forefront of the indie world however, they've been pretty popularized. :) |
JamieTwort
10.01.13 | Damn I meant to type Yellow House, that was a typo haha. |

10.09.13 | I'm going to get back to putting review out daily. I've just been busy with college classes and listening to some new jams that have been recently released. It'll probably be either Benoit Pioulard, The So So Glos or Popol Vuh |
