Also, I get that maybe variance troll is not in the spirit of what a variance troll is (maybe it would have been better to do percent of all ratings that are a 1 or 5, or that are just one value) but it takes my computer like 10 hours to process this all, so fuck it.

Did someone in the Staff give you figures to work with for your sample size? did you personally find every staff/contrib etc reviewed album and disregard the overlap of reviewed albums? or do you have some stats software that makes this stuff easier?
macman76 05.07.16	XML package in r (the programming language) has code that makes getting data from a webpage easy. I wrote code that looped across all staff/contrib/emeritus review pages and scraped the soundoff pages of each album. I later disregarded duplicate album reviews (btw, the album with most staff reviews is http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/59346/Dance-Gavin-Dance-Acceptance-Speech/).

macman76 05.07.16	high variability: big range in your ratings, i.e. you use a lot of 1s 1.5s and 4.5s and 5s low variabilty: most your ratings are close your mean, i.e. you give all 4s
