09.12.15 | @PunkMoon the layman's version is that there's this one lava flow in this old volcanic complex in New Zealand that's way thicker than it should be and has a much lower silica content than it should. I'm trying to quantify what went down when it was erupted and emplaced to figure out why it is the way it is. |

09.13.15 | nah man, I wish, though. I'd be super stoked if I got to do grad school work on a system as awesome and complex as the TVZ, but right now I'm "stuck" doing research on the Banks Peninsula complexes (Akaroa, specifically).
I mean, "stuck" is a bad word since BP is still a world-class place to study this kind of thing, but Taupo would seriously be some next-level stuff |

volcanology and seismology have always interested me (not quite as much as meteorology, which is my field of study) and i'd probably want to study Lake Toba or something of its ilk if i were to venture into the former |
