New Summer Psych Stuff

this is stuff i think is awesome for summer. i have tried to keep it psychadelic themed, but made up of newer stuff. actually, most of this isnt psychadellic, but who cares.
1the horrors
skying

they have released 3 beautifully recorded, but very different albums so far. this is probably their synthiest thing yet, and is great to chill out to. oceans burning and endless blue are two corkers.
2 scum
again into eyes

proof that behind lead singer Tom Cohen's Hello! gossip collumn life that comes with marrying peaches geldof, there is one hell of a tune-smith.Whitechapel is a great tune.
3 toy
toy

a band i can see taking the nations ears hostage pretty soon.
4 pond
beard, wives, denim

ssharing members with tame impala, these aussies sure have pedigree. this is their 4th album in three years and is their best yet. their 5th is also in the pipeline.
5 brian jonestown massacre
their satanic majesties second request

fantastic record that pays tribute to the stones sitar tinged album without sounding tedious or un-original. anenome is perhaps the coolest song ever.
6tame impala
innerspeaker

sun drenched psychadelia from down under. not much more to say.
7 black rebel motorcycle club
howl

folk tinged acoustic third sound like bob dylan in placees, but never lacks in classic brmc predatory instinct
8arcade fire
the suburbs

kind of a concept album about growing up in the suburbs, the latter half is a very cool, chilled out acoustic affair, whereas tracks like month of may belt along like velvet underground covering sex pistols. (kinda)
9the raconteurs
consolers of the lonely

many people talk about them and focus on jack white but this album sees fantastic compositions by brendan benson, and even some great fiddle playing by lil' jack lawrence.
10arctic monkeys
suck it and see

this one has really soundtracked my sommer so far and is by far my favourite album by them. heavier momeents such as dont sit down cause ive moved your chair (along with containing some great lyrics) sound like a classic brittish summer,(basically a rather damp and rainy affair) whereas lighter moments are great for when the sun finally breaks through the clouds.
