been quite busy with work so haven't been able to engage in as much sput as I would have liked the past few months sadface.jpg. here's a list of electronic digs of mine so far this year though! some new and some (slightly) old. what have you been listening to? ALSO i just hit 1000 comments (only took me 7 years lol).
1Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith
The Kid

this album is just etched in my mind right now after seeing her perform last night. mesmerising live show and an absolute sweetheart to talk to as well. (experimental/synth/art pop)
2DJ Koze
knock knock

always on top. (tech-house/hip-hop/disco)
3Gabor Lazar
Unfold

super fun mish-mash of two-step, electro, techno, bass - in other words physical and jamming club tracks again. for fans of errorsmith and general mad drum programming. (club)
4rRoxymore
Thoughts of an Introvert Pt. 2

quirky engaging techno. 'Mythical Technology' will be one of my tracks of the year. (techno/electro)
5Various Artists (Electronic)
Flowers from the Ashes

man italians just know how to do that atmospheric techno. (mindful brooding vibes)
6Monolithic
Herbie

lo-fi/outsider house I occasionally feel gets a bit tedious. but gotta recognise when it's done well. really nice use of samples, lush twinkly synths and mad groovy basslines - great production all round - will be one of my singles of the year. (deep house/lo-fi)
7Various Artists (Electronic)
Permahigh: World Music Day

as far as club music goes, there isn't much more exciting than the assortment of bassy, experimental sounds that come out of labels like permahigh. features another stunning track from "LOFT" and a whole lot more. (techno/club/experimental)
8Burnt Friedman
Anthology 1980-2017

just read that burnt friedman and jaki liebezeit (drummer of Can) had a long-standing collaboration. no wonder, this is pure rhythms. (percussive, dub, ambient, techno, jungle)
9Tropical Interface
OM1

hit up a strong russian grime vibe couple months back. epitome of the niche is Tropical Interface's 'Orchid EP' listen for a taste of the heftiest of bangers. he's taken that sound and held it back (slightly) for his first album. (bass, grime)
10Moodymann
Pitch Black City Reunion

the title track. get yourself in the sun and bliss out. (house, jazz)
11Other Lands
Pattern Transform

a range of atmosphere here, from the eery and gorgeous opener to the almost summery dancefloor house jam that makes the third track. just an incredibly deep and rewarding listen. (house, ambient)
12Jon Hopkins
Singularity

not much to say about this that hasn't already been said. my opinion is that the first 4 tracks are the perfect representation of his sound and no one can really match that. kudos jon (microhouse)
13Kelly Lee Owens
Oleic

came across this after her incredible LP debut last year. love the dancefloor vibe - mixin those thick bouncing lows, that ethereal voice and at the end she makes it all sound so plush (tech-house)
14Szare
Kodiak / Translocated

some solid manchester techno mindfukery, essential 2018 listen. (techno/bass/industrial)
