5 Most Essential Heavy Metal Records

If you have to choose the five most essential Heavy Metal records what will be your choice?rDifficult and subjective I know...But these are my choices - Chronological
1Black Sabbath
Paranoid

The title track from their debut is probably the first real Heavy Metal song but
songs like War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man or Electric Funeral make this record a
metal anthem.
2Judas Priest
Sad Wings of Destiny

All records up to British Steel are essential and extreme influential. It's really hard to
choose one, probably British Steel is more iconic, but Sad Wings of Destiny was
definitely their turning point and a huge influence to all NWOBHM bands.
Far from being 100% sure on this choice.
3Iron Maiden
Powerslave

Their debut or Number of the Beast are probably more influential but Powerslave is
in my opinion one of the best records ever made. Truly an iconic metal record.
4Metallica
Master of Puppets

Like Maiden, their debut is probably also more influential, but Master of Puppets
is one of the most memorable metal records ever made, and that's a fact.
5Slayer
Reign in Blood

This record was definitely the template for many generations of extreme bands
worldwide. The title track and Angel of Death are among the best Thrash Metal
songs ever made.
