12.08.24 | Dude having bummer roommates is such a miserable hassle, I would say all you can really do in the future is make sure everyone is on the lease so they can be separately held accountable if they’re the ones not holding up their end of the bargain. As far as your wife goes, I’m happy to hear that she doesn’t seem to be worsening at least, and hope that navigating the medical/insurance system will be as painless as humanly possible. When I get paid next I’ll be throwing a little bit you guys’ way. In the mean time stay strong, you guys seem to have a pretty good support system so don’t feel bad having to lean on it in your time of need. |

@botb I wouldn’t say she isn’t getting worse, but it’s very gradual. Every visit is like a slightly higher chance that they’ll be able to day “ok yea something is wrong here” even though she clearly can’t walk without a walker, so hearing them say her tests are normal is maddening. Like we get it, ALS is not something they want to diagnose at the drop of a hat but it sucks that there’s not anything we can do in the meantime except wait. I really hope she doesn’t have that and that it’s something that can be treated but again we just have to wait and see. At the very least we have good health insurance that has yet to deny anything |

She is convinced that she’s not going to be alive come next decade and sometimes it’s hard to hear her talk like that but I do my best to be supportive and help her keep her head up. She also takes Prozac |

12.10.24 | The issue with that is that the house we’re renting is in bad shape and I couldn’t bring anyone else in to replace them, and I think the work that needs to be done is enough that the person we’re renting from might ask us to move in order to do repairs and we don’t currently have the means to do that.
We’ve discussed moving in with our parents for a few months which would not be ideal but it might have to happen to get us back on our feet |
