Deviant.
01.05.12 | I could be that that guy and just say that there's a whole bunch of stuff missing, and that given some of the albums that are on here makes me even more surprised that some others aren't. But this is a solid fuckin' list |
clercqie
01.05.12 | Never really got why Foals is so highly praised but superb list otherwise. |

01.05.12 | Buckethead - Colma isn't from the 2000's |
AutoRock
01.05.12 | True that. But I am from germany and it was released in 2000 there, so I included it because it's fucking awesome. It shouldn't count technically, but i love just to much |

AutoRock
01.05.12 | @chambered. What?! Well since I really friggin haaaate Radiohead, except for "In Rainbows" i shouldn't judge you... but you still have no soul and no heart. |

01.05.12 | Props for Dead Letter Circus. Isis is obvious win. |

01.05.12 | 38 is such a piece. |

01.05.12 | No Muse, Mew, Elbow, Cog, or Ween? list is still great, lots of variety |
AutoRock
01.05.12 | I really dislike Muse, except for 2-3 songs (Knights of Cydonia is great tbh). Bellamys way of singing just kills most of their songs instantly for me. I don't care to much for elbow, tbh I think they are just an okay band... pretty boring most of the time. Cog are Karnivool but only half as awesome. Never heard of Mew or Ween. But since Mew has Radiohead, Muse and dredg(I don't like em either) as comparisons, chances are, that they will sound like overrated pretentious art-rockers to me. I will check out Ween though.
Oh. And btw. 19 needs mooooar love from sputnik. Way more. |
mvood
01.05.12 | Mew isn't pretentious art-rock. Give Frengers a go |
AutoRock
01.05.12 | well i might as well check it out. |
iambandersnatch
01.05.12 | @ Autorock I'm listening to a diff Faunts album right now and it's pretty good so I can buy that.
A bit surprised you haven't heard of Mew, most indie people on this site are all about them. Personally not that big of a fan (other than a handful of songs), but they didn't come off as pretentious to me. |
Sleaper
01.05.12 | If you had any animal collective album replacing #24, #40 and #45 this list would be perfect |
AutoRock
01.05.12 | Gave Frangers a spin on Grooveshark and they are pretty good I have to admit. The whole Muse, dredg, Radiohead comparisons do not make a whole lot of scence to me.I
@iambandersnatsch: The M4 EP is way better than their LP in my opinion but it's very post-rockish so if you don't dig post rock you will probably only like the Opener, M4 Part 2. But for me personally it's a hell of an EP, i would give 4 out 5 Tracks a classic Rating. (Everything except Meno Mony Falls which is still pretty good) |
newjunkaesthetic93
01.05.12 | Pretty good list, except you know Coldplay is just a really gay watered down version of Radiohead right? |
AutoRock
01.05.12 | Coldplay never sounded anything like Radiohead to me. Radiohead is way complexer and quirkier, the lead voices do not match at all. Coldplay relies way more on traditional song structures. Coldplay (back when they weren't painfully average) were a accessible pop band in all the right ways, while still doing their own thing, and if they ever sounded like another band, this band would definitely be U2. |

01.06.12 | @YetAnotherBrick: A list of only 50 Albums is bound to miss stuff... I had to cut some really amazing albums to hit the 50 Album mark. (XX, Blue Sky Noise, Bon Iver, Bon Iver, Continuum, Audioslave to name only a few) And on top of that, I obviously don't know every good album out there, and I'm an ignorant fuck when it comes to metal and hardcore, as well as most of the jazzy and classic stuff. |
