I was so overworn of those genres that I can't stand listening to them anymore. also, about a year ago, I checked a few of my favorite k-pop and j-pop acts' or bands' new material, and most of them had me gagging by the end of a song because it was so awful. also, I have anime buds, and they listen to a bunch of j-pop, and it's just so -_-

Their lip singing / ultra-kawaii dance routines are benefited ++++++ by copious amounts of stadium reverb and thousands of hello kitty backpacks. The only K-Pop I've found remotely interesting is the insanely infectious power-chorus on f(x)'s Electric Shock. A banger.

Not really feeling the tune tho TBH, a little too sugar-rushy" It's definitely not for everybody, but far as I'm concerned Livetune utilizes Hatsune far better than anybody else. It's an easy sound to fuck up, but Livetune just makes it work. "This James Ferraro release is so weird" Dude goes from lo-fi ambient tapes (Marble Surf), to Ariel Pink'ish retro pop (Night Dolls With Hairspray), to goofy hi-fi computer jingles (Far Side Virtual), to wonky hip hop instrumentals (Sushi), to contemporary R&B (Cold). Strange progression, to say the least.

Check out Coyote Clean Up's Frozen Solid, Minilogue's Blomma, Move D & Benjamin Brunn's Songs From the Beehive, and Global Communication's 76:14.

Love it. More pls." Did you like Wander / Wonder? I know I'm in a heavy minority here, but I'll take the sound of that EP over the album. Agreed with the Ferraro album, alot of his auto-tune whining is a little grating after awhile, but the atmospheres he creates are so damn alluring. It's definitely a grower. That's exactly how I feel about Container. Raw, stripped down, no bullshit bangers. Check out his first two albums, they're both really great. "I think this is just the world we live in now... I don't think it's possible to catch every good release anymore." Yep, unfortunately. I usually end up finding some of the best albums in a year months after the year's ended. Sometimes years. It's exciting though, to think you really haven't even begun to scratch the surface at the end of a year.
