I really don't think Crash Love is that bad. It may have the worst AFI song on it (in the form of "Too Shy To Scream") but the rest of the songs I really enjoy. I really loved Burials when it first came out but it's definitely degenerated quite a bit in my mind. There's still a few solid tracks but a lot of it feels poorly produced (far too much reverb and compression) and some of the songs are painfully unmemorable. I think Blood feels more like an AFI record.
1. Sing The Sorrow
2. The Blood Album
4. Crash Love
Love them all though. It's hard for me to rank albums from before Sing The Sorrow because they have such a different vibe. My tastes line up more with their later material these days but I still love Art of Drowning and Black Sails. I can appreciate their work from before Black Sails but it's not the kind of music I actively listen to very often.
