| The Weird Life
It's been a weird few months for me, good and bad. My little sister has been in the ER for a week now with unexplained seizures and lapses in consciousness. Even the lead neurosurgeons at this hospital don't know what's going on. I hope she'll be the same when this storm passes. I had to take a day off of work to drive 6 hours to Denver to pick up my two other siblings who were staying with my parents to support my sister. They couldn't pay for the hotel anymore so I had to bring them home. It ended up being a 15 hour day of driving and then a 5 AM work day the next morning, so it's been a long week. My dog is dying, so I'll have to put him down next week, but it's something I expected to happen soon so it's not too big of a deal. Compared to what my sister is dealing with, it isn't such a big issue in comparison, he's old anyway.
Happily, though, I'm getting married in July, so that's a massively good portion to my life. It balances everything out right now. Trying to find an adequate place to live is a different beast though. I may have to build my own house, but we'll see about that. Fortunately, I have enough construction know-how to do something like that if it comes down to it. Rural America isn't the hillbilly life that everyone claims it is.
