08.14.21 | Fantastic. Really excellent. On first listen the Japanese female vocals is a bit jarring when she joins in.
Guitar parts are totally awesome and the mix is great, I would suggest removing that female vocal verse and have her do a harmonizing passage over the second half of the song. Love her voice it is a bit jarring going from screamo to beautiful vox |

I felt like the drums were a bit too loud on my last EP and made it more obvious they they were programmed so I mixed them a little lower this time, I may have overcorrected though. Tbh as a guitar player and vocalist I’m not super knowledgeable about drums, it takes me a long time to get them to sound halfway decent.

08.16.21 | just got through this 2nd EP, I actually remember listening to the first one as well. Lots of thoughts on this. Your songwriting is awesome man, your riffs are great and well played for the most part. The vocals, lyrics, meter all work really well, not sure how I feel about the growls per se, but the screams work, and the cleans are great. I personally enjoyed the female vox. The mix could use some work, but it's not bad, it just doesn't really lend well to the dynamics of your song writing. There are parts that want to climax and explode, and then pull back, and the mix hinders that in a lot of places. Some of your guitar tones are questionable in the distorted department. It sounds like some amp sims were used for those. Song 2 sounds way too mono in that intro, it splits much better after about 10 seconds but those heavy rhythm guitars right up the middle does not sound right. Anyways, just some friendly criticism. It's good stuff, and if you paid someone for some good production you could have a real gem on your hands. |

08.16.21 | @dungeonboy thanks for the feedback! Songwriting is definitely my strong point and the thing that I love most about making music. The technical stuff like mixing and guitar tones and stuff I need to improve at. At some point when I can afford to I will probably have these EPs re-mixed/mastered professionally. The first song is all amp modeling, the second song is an amp and the third song is mixed but mostly amp. I think I used a amp sim for the tremolo riff at the climax towards the end. I tried using my iphone to mic the guitar amp instead of my actual microphone that I use for vocals or recording directly because I was trying to get a sort of lo-fi old school skramz raw guitar tone but tbh it was not the best idea and by the time I realized it I was way too far along to re-record everything. |
