auberginedreams 07.19.12	thanks. i mean i didn't actually draw the picture (it's a japanese woodblock print from the samurai era) but i designed the layout and everything. the picture is of a samurai right before committing suicide, and the scroll in front of him is the poem he wrote before dying that served as his suicide note.

auberginedreams 07.19.12	thanks. to be honest i don't really listen to very much electronic music because it's too monotonous. with this ep i wanted to try and make electronic music that was more melodic and structured more like post-rock, with climaxes rather than songs that just keep repeating the same stuff over and over again. that was my goal at least. i've been playing guitar for a few years and a lot of the synth lines are influenced by metal riffs and other things that aren't very common in electronic music. i just finished the last track about five minutes ago and my mission was basically to make the most epic track i possibly could lol. i think it turned out pretty good tbh. i'm not the best producer by any means, but i'm happy how this turned out for the most part. now i just need to finish editing a few parts and i'll be ready to release it.

bakkermaarten007 07.19.12	Your music isn't actually half that bad (that's a compliment since I dislike most electronic music). I like that you try to create a an atmosphere. But still too predictable most of the time, though it's probably easier to say that as a listener other than a creator.

auberginedreams 07.20.12	@bakkermaarten007 thanks, i realize it's not the most complex music out there (i'll be the first to admit that my drum programming could use some work), but i'm happy with how it's turned out for the most part, especially for a debut ep. i've gotten a lot better at producing since i first started work on this ep, so my next release will definitely be an improvement. @ncguitar thanks! yeah i realized that the mix on the first song i uploaded (the one that's just titled "song" on my soundcloud page) seems kind of loud compared to the others. i'll have to fix that before releasing the final version. was that the one you were talking about or were there others that were mixed too loud that i should look into adjusting?
