FrankRedHot 07.07.11	You do realize that the line cooks can't close down shit until that food is out and that clock hits closing time, Satty? Preclosing is nothing in a kitchen.
Satellite 07.07.11	well, they can usually close down a lot of their stuff but certainly not all. and generally speaking, if a party of 12 comes in 20 minutes before closing time, the cooks are going to beat the server(s) out easily because a party that large is generally going to stay for a dickishly long while.

TomArnoldsArmpit 07.07.11	Been a line cook/food prep before, but my expertise is in artisan bread baking. I like it way more (and am significantly better at it) than cooking. Food prep is usually a breeze, though.
Aids 07.07.11	i hope alonsoharris realizes that i was 100% joking. I'm actually an overly generous tipper most times. and stretching people's hours is a dick move. my first job was on a golf course and i couldnt leave at night until every fucking member finished playing.
deathofasalesman 07.07.11	Went to a sushi place in Hollywood a year ago when they were just about to close. We asked too much of the waiter and left a shitty tip after keeping them 30 mins after closing. I felt so bad but most of my friends were high. No I'm not proud of myself.

BigHans 07.07.11	Have worked at least part time in the restaurant biz for 12 years. This happens alot. Its a total dick move and its absolutely correct that usualy people who lack the common courtesy to understand people are trying to close down absolutely do not tip either.

MO 07.07.11	So glad I never had to work in a restaurant. But that same thing happened to me once when I worked at Subway, not as bad since its fast food but sucks all the same.
BigHans 07.07.11	The worst is when youre working delivery, and some drunk asshat calls 1 minute before closing, orders a deep dish pizza (which takes forever to cook), and basically adds an extra hour to your shift for one order which is almost guarenteed not to be a tip.
