09.22.16 | Tried making a full 2016 list earlier and something went wrong so here we are. The new Opeth is solid but not AOTY quality. Meshuggah is great but falls short of the 5 listed here. I'm probably missing a couple of other mentions but I've got you guys to help bump my memory. Hi. |
StrikeOfTheBeast
09.22.16 | Flotsam And Jetsam's self-titled album kicks ass. I don't know if you know them or not, but they're a great band. |
Gnocchi
09.22.16 | Yeah I found that between average and good. |
Dedes
09.22.16 | i think Be'lakor's Vessels was absolutely amazing. Really cool concept, progressive but not overbearing. I think Be'lakor is one of the best bands in modern death metal but maybe that is just me. |
Dedes
09.22.16 | Also sorry I never got to joining your group man. I'm back in school and i'm more focused on doing reviews for sputnik now. |
MarsKid
09.22.16 | In my opinion, First Fragmen - Dasein > Akroasis by a wide margin. |

Death Grips - Bottomless Pit
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Skeleton Tree
Pretty generic but. Think these are all my 4.5s this year. |
MarsKid
09.22.16 | I definitely think this year has had more well-liked albums than last year, judging by averages. But in my opinion there really is never a 'bad year' in music; you just gotta be looking in the right places. |
Gnocchi

09.22.16 | Yeah, the new Vektor album slays harder than any album has slayed for quite some time. Apart from that, the new Dinosaur Jr. is pretty swell too. And this is probably the zillionth time I've rec'd this but Moon Tooth's Chromaparagon is goddamn magical and how the fuck does it only have 32 votes |
ramon.

MercuryToHell
09.22.16 | There's a lot this year to pick from, AOTY lists are gonna be pretty spectacular, if not devastatingly hard to pick from - for me it's from the following:
Bowie, The Algorithm, Russian Circles, Three Trapped Tigers, Death Grips, Clipping, Radiohead, Devin Townsend Project, Biffy Clyro, The Black Queen...
And this is without taking into consideration the new AAL, Dillinger Escape Plan, ETID, Meshuggah, Opeth and Machinedrum set to follow - they can't all be underwhelming! |
OldCrime
09.22.16 | Fates Warning anyone? |

09.22.16 | The new Opeth isn't an album of the year contender. The new Shuggah is fantastic (thnx Nuc Blast) but will probably fall outside of my top ten. I'm waiting on the new Arkan, Anaal Nathrakh, Tool (lol), Ulcerate etc |
