Top 5 Video Games of 2016

Since everyone's opinion is flawed and invalid except mine let's discuss the best games of 2016 in no particular order
1Stardew Valley

My girlfriend bought this on a whim on Steam to kill time in between classes at school and we both became hooked within like 2 days. Essentially a spiritual successor to Harvest Moon this is one of those game you can just chill and listen to music while playing. A fantastic game that was developed by one person that has more depth and content that AAA games that were developed by over 100 people.
2Final Fantasy XV

No it's not perfect and but damn is it still good. Combat while frustrating at points because of the camera is still fun and easy to grasp. The story is more easy to understand than previous FF games and the main characters are charming enough to make it enjoyable to pay attention. (points taken off for lack of Bahamut)
3Dark Souls 3

Discarding the fact it can run like crap on Xbox it's still a great game that stays true to the tried and true Souls formula, with enough tweaks to make it its own. Though one has to question how long from software can keep making similar if not identical game before people get tired of it.
4DOOM

Fuck yes! Fuck! Yes! This is what we need more of. Doom took the original fast paced, gory, insane gameplay and made it work in 2016. Sub par multiplayer aside Doom is a fantastic game start to finish with a incredible soundtrack. It has a story but just enough to not make it not just 8 hours of senseless killing of demons (though it could have been that and not lost many points overall) But for people who could give less about the story than Blood on the Dance Floor it's full steam ahead in demon murder. Doom would have been my personal choice for game of the year if not for the last entry
5Overwatch

I didn't play multiplayer games anymore, much less online only ones. But Overwatch changed that. With 21 characters at launch (23 now) with unique abilities with their own strengths and weaknesses. No character goes unchecked and that's great. You can screw around in quickplay or arcade mode or go "try hard" in competitive mode that actually requires coordination with your team to match and counter the enemy team. Plus with Blizzards track record of supporting titles this game wont be going away anytime soon.
