5 Underrated Bands

5 amazing bands that are drastically underrated.
1Bash and Pop

Tommy Stinson's first band after the Replacements. It felt like a natural
progression from where the band left off with mature complex song writing and
a great production value. It also has a raw edge and burning energy harkening
back to the Mats' early day with Bob.
2The Queers

A criminally overlooked punk band. The Queers are known for immature lyrics
and simple short songs. And while they have these in abundance they also have
some of the most damn catchy pop punk tunes ever written.
3King Diamond

While maybe less underrated than overlooked, King Diamond is one of the
greatest and most unique metal acts of all time. Taking inspiration from the
likes of Alice Cooper and David Bowie, Diamond combined theatrical stage shows
with engrossing concept albums. Guitarist Andy LaRocque constantly delivers on
every album as well as King's signature high pitched falsetto howl.
4The Distillers

One of the few female fronted punk bands to ever make it (arguably) big. The
Distillers wrote tight no bullsh#t punk rock with attitude to spare. They had a
hard edge but also instilled a sense of melody into all of their work.
5Scars on Broadway

Another side project, Daron Malakian and John Dolmayan of S.O.A.D only made
one album together after the break up of System. It combined many elements
of S.O.A.D but instead of biting schizophrenic metal it seems very more focused
rock. More techno elements are present than their previous work as well, but
Daron manages to channel his explosive energy into a well crafted album with
elements from all genres of music.
