02.20.11 | I used to d/l way more than healthy and it kinda ruined music for awhile. It's much better to just let the music digest. |
Relinquished
02.20.11 | yeah I haven't downloaded anything in over a month and a half...I'm just listening to the usual favorites, revisiting the forgotten ones, and the ones I haven't had a chance to get well acquainted with. |
LegendofPittman
02.20.11 | I download about 7 to 8 a week. About 2 a day. I usually listen to about 5 albums average at work, so 2 new ones a day and revisit 3. Sometimes I will just take a whole week to become more familiar with albums. |
acorncheese
02.20.11 | I have so many downloaded that I've given up on trying to listen to it all. It's pretty much a collection at this point. |
vanderb0b
02.20.11 | I pretty much downloading a while ago. I'd get so many albums that I'd get absolutely overwhelmed and I'd only listen to most of them a few times. I still dl the occasional album, but I've mostly been getting CDs lately. |
eternium
02.20.11 | You have to give everything a chance. |
theacademy
02.20.11 | the mode playcount for songs in my library is 3
little bit under 22K songs
so basically, no |
Ire
02.20.11 | i've doubled my library in the last three months
i regret nothing |
North0House
02.20.11 | I do it all the time... Especially when I happen to just look through Bandcamp... It not only eats up my computer's space, but I rarely listen to full albums anymore. I've recently cleaned out my library though and am going to only download an album or two a week. |
bungy
02.20.11 | "I download about 7 to 8 a week. About 2 a day."

TheSpirit
02.20.11 | Sputnik definitely fuels the need to d/l as well... whether it being recs or just trying to find something awesome to wow other users. Kinda makes it impersonal and a lot harder to connect with the music imo especially when you're just rushing through shit. |
Relinquished
02.20.11 | well I basically have like 160 gbs of music, I think I'm good for a few months |
bungy
02.20.11 | everything I download goes onto my hard drive. 120 gigs of that are left on my computer. 90 gigs of that go on my ipod. My favorite 10 gigs go on my iphone. I don't download anything without the intent to listen to it immediately. |
PearlDrummer20
02.20.11 | 5 is amazing. |
TheSpirit
02.20.11 | basically sonic but you know others go out of their way |

02.20.11 | i have lots of free time so i can handle all the music i have so whatevs |
bungy
02.20.11 | I listen to ambient on itunes through the 30 second samples, then rate it .5 of a difference from what bitchfork rated it, that's how I became elite |
porch
02.20.11 | i will control so hard as i can |
theacademy
02.20.11 | i go out of my way to wowzers |

kitsch
02.20.11 | i mass download a lot of similar artists and then spend a month listening to all of it |
LegendofPittman
02.20.11 | ""I download about 7 to 8 a week. About 2 a day." LIAR"
Like I said, I listen on average to about 5 albums a day when I am at work, how is that not possible? lol |
bungy
02.20.11 | about 2 a day = about 14 a week, not 7 to 8. haha |
LegendofPittman
02.20.11 | Weekdays haha EDIT: oh wait that would still be 10, usually one day I won't download anything new. |
InFiction
02.20.11 | I guess I do, but I don't really have a specific amount. |
DinoX
02.20.11 | Ya I find that to be a real problem with sputnik. There is always something new I want to check out and I find myself not appreciating albums as much as I should because I am always moving onto the next thing. It is just that there is so much good music to hear! |
DaveyBoy
02.20.11 | Yes... And another recommendation I have is to listen to albums on different players. EG: At the very least, once on headphones & once out loud on pc or in the car. Some albums just sound clearly better in one setting over the other. |
LegendofPittman
02.20.11 | The music creeps, it's a weirdo |
Gorification
02.20.11 | ive recently stopped downloading all metal (except new releases from bands i already have). metal burnout. |
Blackbelt54
02.20.11 | no, but i should do something like this, when i get less i appreciate what i have more |
Shadein
02.20.11 | Yeah I've been downloading excessively lately and I've picked a few things on End of the Year lists,
like The Monitor by Titus Andronicus and This is the Warning by Dead Letter Circus, or the
"masterpieces" of a genre, like Worship and Tribute by Glassjaw and TDAGARIM by Brand New. I listen to
these albums once and then never take time to listen to them again or appreciate them. But if I don't
take the time to at least listen to all this music, I feel like I'm missing out. |
thediamondcanopy
02.20.11 | soooo much truth.
music moderation is key. |
Deviant.
02.20.11 | I always have a list of artists/albums to check out, be it from recs or my own discoveries but I don't download them all in one hit. Just a few at a time and take the time to fully explore them before I move onto the next one. Slow process to be sure, but more rewarding |
Piglet
02.20.11 | I probably download 1 or 2 albums a month, so I make them worth it. Usually I just listen to my favourite bands and don't really expand as much as I'd like to. |
mcac2
02.20.11 | At the very least, once on headphones & once out loud on pc or in the car. |
bungy
02.20.11 | 1 or 2 a month? Do you like music? |
North0House
02.20.11 | "I probably download 1 or 2 albums a month, so I make them worth it. Usually I just listen to my favourite bands and don't really expand as much as I'd like to."
Lol I downloaded 4 albums today man. (Bancamp.) I buy 1 or 2 CD's a month, usually. |
North0House
02.20.11 | Hence the reason I really need to control my downloading so I can enjoy what I get. |
feedhertothesharks
02.20.11 | ya i'm addicted to downloading myself should let albums grow on me more just so hard to break the habit i need an intervention lol |
puma35
02.20.11 | 600 albums since September, ai papi |
outline
02.20.11 | Since September I'm at 53. |
Acanthus
02.20.11 | I don't d/l too often, if I do it's because reviews on sputnik swayed me on the album.
Also, #5 - love what they did in Appleseed |
