07.09.11 | "I should have fucking known
you are who you fuck.
and they called me a thief. they called me a thief.
nothing more than a thief, open hands stretched out, begging you to take.
but all you did was steal. all you did was steal.
see, we're all thieves. we all stole.
but only one gave it back. and this is how it ends, this epic tale. this sad story. this tragedy.
such a fucking waste of time that's never coming back.
but thieves don't take, they only steal.
he never wrote a song for you.
every word i wrote for you...now, this is all you get.
the music's getting louder, the feeling more familiar.
and you can look a thousand times, but it will never change.
i never thought this would be your song. fuck, i never thought this would be my song.
but thieves don't write songs, their victims write for them.
i've never fucking said it before.
i've never fucking meant it more.
fuck you.
fuck all of you"
I know "fuck" packs a punch, but I mean this seems a little over the top to me. |

07.09.11 | Eight times...I don't know, maybe it's just me but I think the lyrical quality of the song is extremely poor.
Just not a very good song. I'd choose Hollow Crown or Prophets over this any day. JS

07.09.11 | Well Kimm, when something terrible happens to somebody and they get angry, fuck is usually a good choice of words.

07.09.11 | I know the letters "Y", "E", "H", "A", "W" pack a punch, but I mean this seems a little over the top to me. |

07.10.11 | I can understand why one may not like his over-use of fuck, but it feels necessary sometimes, and in the context of that song and that album and the time I heard it, it was perfect, but too each their own.

YES!!!! |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | One of the best lady-hating albums ever. |
Winesburgohio
07.10.11 | EYEWTKAS is straight up misogyny disguised as a break-up album.
Anyway, The Wrens- Meadowlands is stellar |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | damn straight, although i preffer W&T, EYEWTKAS is a giant fuck you to anyone whos fucked someone over in a relationship. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | "EYEWTKAS is straight up misogyny disguised as a break-up album."
Yeah, the lyrics are like that because he had never been with a girl before, and just decided to fucking hate women for no reason at all. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | Personally, I think the lyrics are brilliant. But meh. What do I know. |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | i love it when people say, albyms like EYEWTAS and jane doe are "gay emo" and "childish". I suppose regular people dont get pissed off when someone has fucked them over. |
Slum
07.10.11 | how has nobody said hospice what the fark |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | Well, Jane Doe is a different story for me... I wouldn't compare those two albums on any level other than they share a similiar heartbreak. Glassjaw has far more substance to them.
Need an example? Glassjaw doesn't write absolutely brilliant lyrics, and then go "I'LL STAY GOLD" x1240918240198401948. |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | not comparing the bands just they both seem to get lumped into the same category of being "childish emo" by a lot of people. Like you said the only thing they have in common is the frontmans anger, rage, frustration and awkwardness in regards to their relashionships. But people bash the concept as some kind of teenage melodramatic bollocks. |
crazyblinddude
07.10.11 | American Football and Empire! Empire! ftw. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | They must've never been laid. |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | lol i was thinking more of they have possibly never lost someone they care about, but yeah that works too lol |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | Never met an 18+ year old man who gave two shits about a girl he never fucked (of course, there are exceptions). Just saying. |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | true, i just remember playing EYEWTKAS and jane doe tons when my fiance left me a few years ago. I think both of those records in their own way capture the sort of insular feeling you get at that point. Where the outside world kind of diasappears for a while and mentally everything becomes so chaotic. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | That's understandable. Pretty similiar reason as to why I can't bring myself to listen to brand new - TDAGARIM. But dudes put it on at work all the time. |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | yeah it sucks when you cant escape from something and your forced to listen to it, it's like pulling teeth. I must admit i've never listened to brand new myself although i do see them praised a hell of a lot on here. Listen to a lot of black metal these days and have recently started listening to grind. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | Can't get into black metal to save my life. |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | i don't know how i did to be honest. I just remember randomly buying wolves in the throne room - black cascade when it came out, pretty much blind buying as i do occasionally when i've got a lot of money in a record store, and it just took over everything i was listening to at the time. I then started picking up the standard classic albums like emperors - nightside eclipse, burzum - hvis lyset tar oss etc and two years down the line i'm still delving further and further into it. But now i've heard grind and i'm listening to both genres at once which is pretty chaotic lol. My listening is all over the place at the moment i've recently started listening to GY!BE as well so i use their F#A#oo album to break the madness once in a while. It also helps that its an amazing and immersive record. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | Yeah, I listened to that Godspeed album. Couldn't get into that, either. I suppose I'm a musically stunted individual. |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | haha hey dude everyones taste is different, whats yours is yours and if other people don't like it fuck em. You only get one life to enjoy and live you might as well enjoy what you like and not be restricted by other peoples opinions and views. as for godspeed i thought they were boring as fuck the first time i listened to them and thought why the hell did i buy this (another blind buy bought on the strength of what i'd heard people say about them) but about 2 weeks ago i was awake at about 2am as i've been off work sick and the meds i'm on are messing with my body clock, so i picked up my iphone and my headphones and thought the album might at least help me sleep as it's pretty chilled out. 62 minutes later i was still awake and thought it was the best thing id heard in a long time, probably the sesnory deprivation of being in the dark enhanced it but there was so much in the background and so much going on that i hadnt noticed when i listened to it before. Since then i've listened to it at least twice a day. |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | wow all these back and forth posts are gay as fuck
why are they? |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | its called having a conversation about music, unfortunatley there are mediums out there for such things. theres thhis really cool site called www.sputnikmusic.com, you may have heard of it? |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | Yeah, you've said that before. Similiar to how you repeat your shitty Rush lists. You also admittedly "say in real life what you say online" so I feel sorry for you. You're an overweight, dirty-slayer-shirt-wearing kid. Being a troll in "real life as well as online" ain't nothin' to brag about dude. |
Liberi Fatali

07.10.11 | Sorry. If we change my username to sonictheplumber, and moose's name to KILL, then we could just be like
"YAH THRASH"
"YAH TRUE ROCKERS"
"BATHORY"
"YAH DUDE YOU A TRUE ROCKER"
Then we could have an intelligent conversation like you demonstrate every time you post. I'm such a shitty user :( |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | hey hey hey, i'm not ragging on anyone here, kill is a straight up guy. also i have been know topost comments such as HAIL SABBATH FUCKERS on more than one occasion lol |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | I apologize for getting to you, sonic. I actually think you're a great guy :) |
Liberi Fatali
07.10.11 | @sonictheplumber different strokes for different folks, got to respect different tastes. Attacking people for the genres they're into is a pretty dimwitted move. Definitely not going to get you far in having meaningful conversations about music with people. |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | personal taste is personal taste, tom likes what he likes and you like what you like. Can't people just agree to disagree on here once in a while |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | He only attacks on a music website because he's insecure with his reality. I don't blame him. I pity him. RUSH m/ |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | Good. Enjoy being fat and liking Rush a WHOLE LOT. Oh, and making off the cuff, edgy comments on a website that make you seem like a moron. I'll take my reality over that any day. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | "but it's funny how I say the same things liberi and moose are saying all the time to people, I'm perfectly aware that different people like different things
but NOFX sucks still, sorry"
Neither of those users said anything even remotely similiar to what you said. Also, you're the one who brought NOFX up. You're not speaking on-topic. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | Wtf was all that. Lol. I'm sorry I struck a nerve with you, little guy. I'll leave you alone now. Have fun reading, chilling outside, going to friend's houses, and all that shit you don't actually do. You grow your hair out, don't change shirts, and fuck with people on sputnik because you think it's funny. Which makes you lame.
At this point, I'm just feeding you. Which I shouldn't do, but I made a list where I lied about drinking tonight, so I should continue this psuedo drunken sharade where I say you're a stupid fucking kid. You randomly popped into a nice conversation (without Rush being mentioned) and called me a shitty user. Then I said you were a shitty user. Now we're here. I'm going to put on Ozzy and finish my bottle, and say that you and I should be friends man. I like the same stuff you do, I just don't make lists about it. That's about the only sputnik-difference. It's all good bro :) |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | I do like metal though. That's where your assumption is wrong. I also said you were fat and scrubby and wore slayer shirts because a picture of you surfaced on sputnik. I like plenty of shit, Rush included. In fact, the first song I ever learned on guitar was the intro to rush - working man. Love that shit! |
TomArnoldsArmpit
07.10.11 | I haven't listened to their discography enough to rate it, just a few songs off each album (as a result of my dad throughout the years). Although I've heard moving pictures, and roll the bones all the way through recently. Moving pictures is better. |

07.10.11 | Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks
Absolutely love 2 (although who doesn't?) |

MoosechriS
07.10.11 | speaking of all things rush, i've only got a farewell to kings and have no idea were to go from there. Should i just start at the begining and work my way through? Thats what i usually do with bands i get into |
MoosechriS
07.10.11 | i'll listen to most things, how bad can it be? lol |

I love that album way more than I should but I was hardly into heavy music at all until my first breakup, which happened to coincide with me deciding to try out Cries of the Past and TCOT, both of which are rather fitting breakup albums. Alone in December is amazing.
Second time round I got into Jane Doe. Reckon I should have more failed relationships to find more fucking amazing music! |
