Best(and Worst) Scene Bands

Today there was a list on Sputnik asking for the best scene bands. rInstead of leaving user JasperrrD a comment, here's a list for ya...r
1 BEST
Album
2August Burns Red
Constellations

Sadly, these guys are becoming a favorite of Scenesters across America, and
it's really a shame because these guys are one of the few tolerable metalcore
bands around these days and they absolutely destroy live. Too bad leveler
was pretty bad.
3Underoath
Define the Great Line

With their newest album Disambiguation they are slowly trying to move
themselves out of the "scene" stereotype, and this is one band some label as
"scene" that are truly talented musicians. Started as a straight up screamo
band, then moved on to intense/epic metalcore and are now finding their new
love of sludge/doom inspired metalcore.
4Dance Gavin Dance
Downtown Battle Mountain II

I don't care what you have to say about Jonny Craig because I've heard it all. If
you can get over the fact that Jonny Boy is the douchiest ginger in the history of
music and listen to what this band has to offer, you may actually enjoy what's going
on in their music. Funky post-hardcore.
5Circa Survive
On Letting Go

Scene kids heard Anthony Green's falsetto swoon back and the days of Juntura
and immediately jumped on the bandwagon, but it's nice to see that this band has
been consistently progressing into a band that offers much more to the listener
and are miles ahead of most of their peers.
6Alexisonfire
Watch Out!

Canada's best post hardcore band and warped tour favorite continue to make
quality music.
7Fear Before
The Always Open Mouth

Denver natives Fear Before created a post-hardcore masterpiece with The Always
Open Mouth and thanks to there scene kid fan base became one of the greatest
"scene" bands ever.
8Upon A Burning Body
The World Is Ours

Slowly but surely, Deathcore is creeping its way into the modern day scene and
onto the stages of warped tour. Most of the music from this genre is almost as hideous as the scene that
follows it, mostly because drop A# breakdowns and pig squeals aren't a very good representation of how
music should sound. That being
said, Upon A Burning Body is one of the few bands in deathcore that can do the
genre right. The drumming is phenomenal, the breakdowns actually make you want
to f**k s**t up and the music a lyrics are FUN.
9 WORST
Album

You guessed it, this section of the list will be a lot longer than the "Best"
10Emmure
Speaker Of The Dead

I've listened to a good amount of deathcore, and I can tell you that this is
deathcore at its absolute worst. 2-3 minute songs that consist of nothing but
half-assed breakdowns and the worst lyrics conceivable by the human race.
The breakdowns aren't even good, people!
11Bring Me The Horizon
Suicide Season

I actually think "Suicide Season" is a great, 3.5/5 album. And I know the majority of
people will disagree with me on that, but it is a record I actually enjoy. Their debut
album "Count Your Blessings" however is one of the worst things I've exposed my
ears to and "There Is A Hell..." is horrible too. Oli Sykes is a f**king horrible front
man, and he contrasts there dark brutal music (as they'd like to describe it) with a
skinny girl pants/hair wearing prick. It's really not possible to take their music seriously.
12A Day To Remember
Homesick

A Day To Remember came up with a brilliant idea (sarcasm). They figured they could
combine the two scenes of warped tour (pop punk and metalcore) into one entity...
and i guess it worked for them cause they're huge now. No matter how many brocore
fans they can convert i still see them as one of the biggest gimmicks in modern music.
Sure, their pop-punk parts are catchy, but their horribly placed and redundant
breakdowns ruin everything they have going for them.
13 Asking Alexandria
Stand Up and Sceam

I don't want to waste minutes of my life writing about this band.
14Attack Attack!
Someday Came Suddenly

Or this band. Worst screamer in existence.
15Miss May I
Monument

Or this band.
16Of Mice & Men
Of Mice & Men

See 14
17The Word Alive
Deceiver

Ok, adding little dubstep parts and keyboard lines that could be in a Tech Nine
song doesn't make your band cool or unique.
18 I Set My Friends On Fire
You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter

By trying to make fun of everything in post-hardcore and metalcore, these guys
made themselves look even stupider.
