06.06.22 | my condolences. I struggle with insomnia as well and weed has been the only thing that really helps me stay asleep at night. unfortunately being an every day smoker comes with it’s own negative consequences and I’ve had to cut it out for the sake of my mental health. I wake up like 2-5 times every single night often with a sore jaw from clenching because of stress. IT SUCKS ASS |

06.06.22 | and doctors just be like “well what is your night time routine? have you tried winding down with a book?” I wanna fuckin smack them. |

06.06.22 | I hate that "try putting your electronics down and pick up a book" advice. It isn't the electronics and a book won't solve it. Been there, didn't work. |

06.06.22 | My condolences to your situation. I know how tough it is to work through difficult times through constant sleep deprivation and stress and it sucks to say the least. I’ve never had insomnia myself and prob can’t give you any ground breaking advice. It sounds like stress is your issue here and if you can’t reach a baseline with your heartrate and thought patterns, that’s prob gunna be the limiting factor. Holistic things that have worked for me (again prob nothing ground breaking): 1. going to bed and waking up at the same time every day including weekends even though it’s lame. If i go to bed 30-45 minutes before I want to sleep and just read a book or do something calming, this normally helps. 2. Exercise/stretching/meditation. These are really the only forceful ways I’ve found to reduce stress. Exercise in itself can be very useful in helping you fall asleep at night for obvious reasons. 3. Eliminate alcohol, weed and caffeine before sleep. I know some ppl say weed helps them sleep but for me it’s a sure way to prevent myself from sleeping for the next few hours. 4. (Bonus) healthy diet and hydration I think help me with stress but not likely to be a deal breaker when it comes to insomnia I wouldn’t think. I’ve found that sleep deprivation is the absolute worst thing for my mental state so I am trying to prioritize these things above all else personally. Best of luck to you man |

06.06.22 | I suffer from both. The sleep paralysis isn't super frequent, but I have to take medication in order to fall asleep. |

06.06.22 | Melatonin. Try ASMR as well. I have the same problems. Prolly sleep 3 hours every single night. Dead tired all the time. |

06.06.22 | Perhaps you have fatal familial insomnia?
Nah try listening to weezer that should do the trick
Nah I don’t have much advice for insomnia but for sleep paralysis it usually occurs when I’m sleeping on my back and when I really shift my sleep pattern abruptly.
Last time I had it radiator by aphex twin was playing in the background (it was actually playing on got incorporated into my nightmare) and bloody hell I’m surprised I didn’t shit my bed |

06.07.22 | have you tried going to an endocrinologist? the stress can really take a toll on the normal functioning of your hormones, like the ones that your body releases when it's time to hit the sack. Off course, therapy, meditation and excercizing should be on the table, as well. |

06.07.22 | I had insomnia for 10-15 years and the fairly recently developed CBT training programme for insomnia has pretty much fixed it. It's all about rebuilding the association in your brain between laying in bed and falling asleep (rather than bed and laying there frustrated). The training does involve weeks of intentionally restricting your sleep so it's hard work but it really paid off for me. |

06.07.22 | sorry for ur loses brother. proud of u for being able to stick it out and make massive gains for urself and ur field.
i've had horrible sleep paralysis since my early teens, but thankfully its settled down overtime to where it'll only happen maybe once a week or 2. melatonin has helped me a lot getting to sleep, but i've always had the difficulty of staying asleep. routine has definitely helped as well, i.e. taking it at the same time every night, but aside from that i only know techniques of getting out of paralysis not preventing it. best wishes buddy |
