| POTS DANCE COMP RESULTS | 5 | | Pollon and Simulant Scopex 98/00
5th Place: Hype
Two strong recs that were enjoyable in entirely different ways while both feeling like an educational experience. I'm very grateful for Hype's presence on the site as he's a fun person to interact with and a great resource for furthering my knowledge of sub-genres that are relevant to my taste that I often overlook / don't feel as versed in as others. Also thanks for giving me another chance when you came back to sputnik. I burnt a lot of bridges back in the day and honestly didn't really expect you to ever fuck w/ me again. I appreciate it. | 4 | | Deee-Lite Dewdrops in the Garden
4th Place: Snake.
Still the inexplicable rec GOAT, these comps have kind of made me reevaluate who I think you are as a music listener entirely lol. Your presence on the site is slight these days which is a shame, but just know you've earned an unconditional rec privilege, I'll check out literally anything you tell me to no questions asked, any time. Please take advantage of it. | 3 | | Terminal 11 Self Exorcism
3rd Place: Avagantamos
I have similar feelings towards the scope of your taste as I do towards Hype's, I appreciate that you cover areas of electronic that I'm not as versed on or "into", but you are single-handedly changing that with your absolute taste-maker status. Thanks for an educational moment on drum and bass and IDM. | 2 | | DJ Sprinkles Midtown 120 Blues
2nd Place: AsleepInTheBack
Honestly it was super hard to pick between you and the winner. The main reason you placed second instead of first is that I feel like the winner really nailed the appropriate kind of rec for each round that was necessary to really impress. Still, despite Midtown 120 Blues being a very very safe round 2 pick, you went into round 1 with a risky winner and Midtown ended up being one of my favourite recs of the entire comp. | 1 | | Layo and Bushwacka! Night Works
1st place: Jasi
Bruhh, that first round rec was some BIG DADDY GIGA-BALLS risky shit. Respect. Despite taking a couple tracks to get into it and nearly shutting it off, it worked out in your favour. It was unexpected and bold, and even if there were other picks that i preferred, the sheer audacity of the rec kind of edged out some other users from round 1 that maybe should have made it instead based on the criteria at face value. You were really on the cusp, but I just thought it was such a ballsy ass play that I had to give you second rec... turns out it was a good call. Way to play your cards like a shark. Round 2 is so important because you cant play it safe if you want to stand out amongst the rest, you cant have your second rec overshadowed by your first. This was the perfect rec because while it wasnt as risky as your first, it was a giga-chad pander to my preferences without feeling safe and something completely unknown to me. Congrats bro. Prize in the comments. | |

06.18.23 | Jasi has won: A one of a kind drawing of what I think you might look like based off your sputnik presence!
Prize will be issued by next sunday evening.
Next comp will be CHICKEN POTS PIE, recs derivative of ANY genre in my pie chart (Lordepots or Potsytater charts both are fine) will be accepted. Will probably do this one in July.
I'm using a spin the wheel type randomizer for the prizes and the one of a kind drawing prize is right beside the $50 gift card prize and oh baby I was sweating at how close this came to actually costing me money, you landed like almost right on the line lmao. | Hyperion1001
06.19.23 | oh hell yeah, im just glad i made it to the finalists.

06.19.23 | I mean somebody rec’d me power metal in the first comp, at least yours was “interesting”. Let’s see what you bring to the table next season before I give you that crown | Jasdevi087
06.19.23 | i will rec power metal | PotsyTater
06.19.23 | Don’t use your new platform for evil | Avagantamos
06.19.23 | I'm glad you enjoyed Terminal 11 so much. I was happy to just get an opportunity to have someone else check that artist out. when I discovered him a couple summers ago it was one of those moments where I thought "wow how am I just hearing this for the first time now?" His discog is so consistently great and stretches pretty far back it's crazy to me how relatively unknown it is. | PotsyTater
06.19.23 | Any other favourites you’d suggest looking into next? | AsleepInTheBack
06.19.23 | given how much our tastes generally diverge, I’m counting this outcome as a hecking miracle | Trifolium
06.19.23 | This was a nice comp Potsy!!! Lots of 💚 | IsisScript80
06.19.23 | Big congrats, Jas... and sweet write-ups, Potsy. :) | Gyromania
06.22.23 | That Nightworks album is good but not my cup of tea for its entire duration, gets a bit samey for my liking | Jasdevi087
06.25.23 | the implication that i would ever waste the fleeting time on this planet with which i will have an intact hairline by hiding it under a bucket hat is, quite frankly, a violation of the geneva convention | PotsyTater
06.25.23 | Hahahahah bro bucket hats are SICK
- sincerely a guy who does not have an intact hairline |
