Sint Round 2

The first song is a dreadfully misleading intro to the album that sounds like a shitty anime credit roll except a bit less shitty. You have no idea the wave of relief I experienced when the second and third tracks came on and I realized that the album had just made a terrible first impression. Some of the production on this is lit as fuck. Definitely made my booty quake. The gripe, however, is that this is overly long and the occasional detours back to anime credit roll music make me want to scour my ear holes with q-tips coated in broken glass. Often times even on the tracks I did enjoy the vocals felt unnecessary and took me a bit out of the experience. I’d have to go back through the track list to tell you the songs where I did enjoy the vocals but the closer is definitely one of them. Several others though I would have flat out just preferred to be instrumental.

But thats kind of okay because you made me listen to something that I've wanted to listen to for years and literally only didn't because it's not on spotify? Secondly, I do feel like this was a safe as fuck and obvious choice that pretty much anyone could have made. But thats okay because its a fucking giga-chad tier pander that brought me great joy. Thirdly, this is some larry long-balls for real. But thats okay because I didn't wish for a single second that it would end? Alright lets add this up...

This was far enough on the robo-cum-jank toaster-meth side of things to feel out of my comfort zone without sacrificing the humanity needed to retain my interest. REALLY STRONG rec. Every time I felt like this was getting a little too nutty it would settle back into something gripping and emotional. I really don't have a bad thing to say about this.

Mixed feelings on this one. The good tracks were really good but the first half was a bit iffy with some skippable tracks like The Box part 1 and 2. Second half took off and brought the goods with the Andy Stott-esque vocals on Dwr Budr and the epic Out There Somewhere duo. I forgot you asked me to not listen to The Saint and did anyway and it was the worst shit ever but don't worry I'm not taking it into account.

I can't say that I got as much out of this as the last rec as far as actual "substance" goes, but this is just some GOAT goofy bullshit which is alllll good too. Pretty much every single vocal track on here is iconic as fuck and will forever live on in my memory banks. Not really sure which one to quote but SITTING IN A LABORATORY. CONDUCTING EXPERIMENTS. ANALYZING DATA. I AM A SCIENTIST... thats about where I started to understand where we were going with this.

I did find the bookends + Season For Change to be stronger than tracks 2-4 but I liked the whole thing all the same.

Snake. Round 2

This is admittedly my least fav of your recs for this comp so far, but the bar is pretty damn high so don't take that the wrong way. This is still a lot of fun and a worthy addition to your legacy as REC GOAT, I just don't see myself returning to it as much as the last three, and for the first time it was a Snake rec that was a bit over-shadowed by some other offerings in the round. I wish there were more vocal tracks in the vein of Magical Dream, which was a stand-out for me. Other stand-outs were Cobra Bora and Pacific 202, but I didn't enjoy the tracks that robo-tripped too hard as much as the ones that groooooooved.
