Far-Less - 'Everyone Is Out To Get Us'
Haste The Day - 'Burning Bridges' or 'Pressure the Hinges'

09.23.10 | I've always been confused about what makes Emery or say, ABR, Christian. Any help? |

09.23.10 | ABR easily is, if you read the lyrics to Redemption and some other songs I'm blanking on |

Christian members =/= Christian band.
Both Flyleaf and Emery do NOT consider themselves Christian bands |
fr33convict
09.23.10 | I've always been confused about what makes Emery or say, ABR, Christian. Any help?
If the band treats they're music as an extension of the Christian church and makes it for the glory of God then they are a Christian band. That's how Maylene and the Sons of Disaster is considered a Christian band while, say, The Classic Crime isn't.
Other bands I don't think anyone mentioned:
House of Heroes
Sleeping Giant |
Emim
09.23.10 | "Both Flyleaf and Emery do NOT consider themselves Christian bands"
Emery I can see, but listen to Flyleaf. All Around Me is a reference to God. The acoustic version of Fully Alive ends with the subject of the song knowing "how to believe in Jesus". Plus, both bands are primarily sold in Christian bookstores and are on Christian labels (or at least used to be, dunno if they still are).
A band doesn't have to be like the Newsboys or Jeremy Camp to be Christian. |
bloc
09.23.10 | Okay, I guess that makes sense. But I can definitely see Flyleaf being Christian, probably one of the most easiest decisions. |
fr33convict
09.23.10 | Flyleaf spent like 10 minutes preaching when I saw them lol |
SeaAnemone
09.23.10 | Guys I'd really like some liberal music. In case you haven't heard of this genre, it's music that liberals tend to widely promote. The lyrical content can be about peace, accepting all creeds and races, even glorifying government social programs. The musical side really doesn't matter... anywhere from metal to hard rock, please. I'm only concerned that the lyrics run parallel with my views. So obviously, I'm not going to hold the liberal music to as high a standard as other music. Hopefully, an incredibly large niche market will grow from this scene, like liberal, Democrat parents in the US only letting their kids listen to this type of music... inevitably creating some nostalgia for the kids as they grow. Thanks!!
Ugh nothing against Christianity but separating music like they do into entire genres that concern only their religion is nonsense. |

09.23.10 | Flyleaf does have a lot of Christian messages, and Emery puts Christian messages into their music, too. Thrice does as well.
But Lacey herself said in an interview that she didn't see Flyleaf as a Christian band, though all the members are Christian and contain Christian themes. |
