A combination of things really. For a stretch of time I didn't think I was good enough/practising enough and was kinda holding the band back. I'm totally self taught in drums so I'm somewhat limited to what I can play. I'd love to put the time forward to REALLY improve but with full-time work, a gf, the gym, friends, life etc it's really hard to find the time/energy to practice efficiently. With all that in mind I go in and out of the overall WANT to play in a band. Like what I do for work now is incredibly fulfilling and I feel like I'm actually making a difference, whereas being in a band is just that, nothing more. So a bunch of stuff really, but for now I'm riding it out nicely. |
